Chapter 5

Stephen POV
Today was a pretty cool first day of school if you ask me. Besides Zia, I had fun today. I got to see my boys again after a long summer, I got to get a full shoutout today, and I got to see Ayesha and help her around. It's always nice to even be in her presence. Lately she's been on my mind frequently, and I I wasn't trying to force anything serious but she's making it hard not to. All practice she was laughing and smiling and it seemed like she had a good time. After practice coach gave us a look at what he expected this season. After that I took the bus home I was just walking in the house. I walked in to see Seth eating some chips. I sat my book bag down by the door and went straight for the pantry to get some baked lays chips. I got some and sat down at the table across from Seth. I pulled out my phone and went to text my boys.
Seth: How was school?
Me: It was straight.
I said eating my chips but not taking my eyes if the screen.
Seth: How was your girlfriend?
I frowned.
Me: I don't got no girlfriend.
I said looking at him eating a chip.
Seth: Yeah you right you got that Ayesha girl.
I rolled my eyes and looked back at my screen.
Me: Whatever, what about your day?
Seth: It was boring, nothing really happened.
Me: When mom coming home?
Seth: She went to go pick syndell up and get some groceries.
Me: Oh, you talked to dad?
Seth: Yeah he told me to tell you to call him.
I nodded my head and got to through away my chip bag.
Me: Ok, you got homework?
Seth: Yeah.
Me: Get it done before mom come home you know she gone get on you if it's not done.
Seth: Yeah, yeah.
I walked upstairs and decided to call my dad just to tell him about my day. Since he was a pro basketball player he was on the road a lot, so this was the way we would stay in touch when he wasn't here. I dialed his number in my phone and took a seat on me bed. After three rings he answered.
Me: Hello?
"Hey son".
Me: Hey pops, what's going on?
"Nothing getting ready for the next two games then coming back home."  
Me: Aw ok, that's good.
"How was your first day"?
Me: It was straight, got the guys to do a good shoot out.
"That's good son, your taking charge. Letting it be known your the best Shooter on the team is key. But don't be arrogant about it."
Me: I won't, my shots are getting higher though.
"Awesome son, where's your mother?"
Me: She's picking syndell up and getting some groceries. She should be home in a couple of minutes.
"Oh, where's Seth?"
Me: He's downstairs, hopefully doing his homework.
"He better be, I already talked to him earlier about slacking."
Me: Yeah, I know.
"Alright well I'll talk to you later son. Love you."
Me: Love ya too pops.
I hung up and layed down. I know I needed to start my homework but I think a little nap was needed. At least before mama got home and jumped ok my case. I closed my eyes and drifted into sleep.
Ayesha POV
After school I walked home and decided to take a twenty minute nap since I was tired. Today was a fun, but long day. I didn't have to worry about homework since I did it on my free periods. I woke up to texts from Brittany saying to meet her at the park a couple blocks away. I texted her back saying ok. I got and put a jacket on and went downstairs to put some shoes on. I saw my Alicia watching tv, sitting on the couch. She turned around when I unlocked the door.
Alicia: Where you going?
Me: To the park.
Alicia: Oh.
She turned back around and I left.
Brooklyn POV
I was shopping with Lamia for some new mascara. I ran out the other day and I needed some more, lamia was already with me so I just took her along with me. After school we always hang so today wasn't any different. Out of all the "girls", me and lamia were the closest. Just because we were the chill ones. Not to diss the other girls but they did to seem to have something with drama. I was cool on that, I didn't need the attention and I knew lamia felt the same way.
Lamia: Get this one.
I looked at the one se was talking about and out it in the basket. I walked down the aisle, looking at other products.
Me: So what you think bout today?
Lamia: It was cool.
She said looking at lipsticks.
Me: You see Kristina mess with that girl today?
Lamia: Yeah, I guess.
She rolled her eyes. She didn't really like the girls, she only hung out with then because she was my friend and that was who I hung around.
Me: She be tripping man.
Lamia: Yeah, just be wanting attention and shit.
I laughed.
Me: Yass.
We laughed.
Lamia: What you think about that Ayesha girl in homeroom?
Me: She was cool, I liked her.
She nodded her head.
Lamia: Yeah me too, I like her vibe.
Me: Yeah, but you see her Stephen?
I looked and her an smirked.
Lamia: Yes, what was that about?
I laughed.
Me: Girl I don't know, but they was all googly eyed.
She laughed.
Lamia: I swear, they would be cute together though.
Me: Yeah, they would be but you know ms. Zia wouldn't like that.
She rolled her eyes.
Lamia: Now I want them to be together just to get on her nerves.
We laughed.
Me: Girl stop.
Lamia: C'mon let's go.
Me: Aight.
I followed her to check out.
