Brittany POV
I was watching Ayesha and Stephen make up when I got a phone call from my dad. I told him to wait while I went into the parking lot so I could hear him.
•Phone call•
Me: Ok dad now go.
Um, so I got news.
Me: What is it?
I'm not going to be able to come home till Thanksgiving.
I froze.
Me: Excuse me?
I got a priories up here in Iraq, an-
I cut him off.
Me: What about me? I thought I was your priority? I'm your daughter!
Brittany watch your tone young lady.
Me: You know what, goodbye Kent.
I hung up. I know that was disrespectful for calling him by his first name but to me I don't think even deserves the title "father", or "dad". He's never here, he's missed everything. Sometimes I just wish I had another dad. After my phone call I didn't even want to stay I just wanted to leave. I got in my car and texted Ayesha to see if she can get a ride with Stephen. After that I drove my way home, awaiting a lecture from my mom.
Ayesha POV
I was sitting watching the game with Stephen since Brittany bailed on me. She texted me saying if I could get a ride with Stephen because she was leaving early. I don't know what's wrong but I wasn't going to text her because I knew she wanted some alone time. I felt bad but I knew that's what it was. Me and Stephen have been enjoying ourselves and been talking like crazy.
Stephen: So there's this bonfire coming up, and I was wondering if you would go with me?
I smiled.
Me: Of course, I wouldn't miss it.
He smiled whiled I blushed. Which reminded me, I had to ask him for a ride.
Me: Hey, Brittany left early and i have no other way home. Do you mind if I ride with you?
Stephen: Nah, that's fine.
Me: Good.
Stephen: You hungry?
Me: Starving!
We laughed.
Stephen: Let's go eat then.
