AJ AND DAVE'S LIVING ROOM, LATER THAT EVENING
AJ and Dave had just settled into the soft glow of their living room, Mateo peacefully asleep in his crib down the hall. The quiet hum of the city outside filtered gently through the windows as they savored the rare calm.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, breaking the tranquility.
Dave exchanged a glance with AJ, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes.
Dave- Who could that be at this hour?
AJ shrugged, slipping off the couch and heading to the door. Dave followed close behind, already guessing it might be someone from the hospital.
She opened the door to reveal Camilla, holding a small bag and grinning widely.
Camilla -Surprise!
Camilla chirped, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation.
Camilla- I figured you two could use a break from the hospital madness.
Dave laughed, stepping aside to let her in.
Dave- You're just in time. We were about to call it a night.
Camilla plopped down on the couch, making herself at home.
Camilla - Not so fast. I brought snacks, wine, and the latest gossip from neuro — and yes, the interns have been driving AJ crazy.
AJ rolled her eyes, smiling despite herself.
AJ - You never miss an opportunity to stir the pot.
Camilla's eyes twinkled with mischief.
Camilla- Hey, someone's gotta keep things interesting.
Dave grinned, pouring Camilla a glass of wine.
Dave-Well, welcome to the Brewster household. Make yourself comfortable.
The three of them settled in, laughter and stories filling the room, the worries of the hospital momentarily pushed aside.
