"Shawn come help me with dinner, the Richfields are coming over for dinner since your father is home" my mom yelled in my direction.
I nodded walking over to her grabbing some pepper for the steaks.
"You need to wear something nice" she suggested.
I nodded again.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
I shook my head. She grabbed my shoulders looking into my eyes.
"What's wrong Shawn?" She asked again.
"Nothing mom! Just lets just do this okay?" I said setting the steaks to the side and heading upstairs.
I grabbed a baby blue button down and some nice pants. I sprayed myself with cologne and did my hair the way I always do. The doorbell rang and I let out the biggest sigh. I hustled downstairs finding the Richfields standing at my door. I saw Cassidy standing behind her dad with a slight smile on her face. She was wearing a cute emerald dress that was tight up top and flared at the bottom. I slowly encountered them and smiled.
"Shawn how are you?" Cass's mom asked.
"Good and you?" I replied nodding.
"Fine, thank you" she smiled.
"Hey Shawn" Cassidy said approaching me as the adults went to the kitchen.
"hey Cass" I said looking her up and down. "You look really nice"
"Thanks, you too" she said straightening my sleeve.
I blushed and smiled. We went to the kitchen and we all sat down for dinner. We ate and talked and I couldn't help but gaze up at Cassidy every other minute. My mom would catch me sometimes and smirk like an idiot.
"So Shawn, do you have a girlfriend?" Cass's mom asked.
I took a bite of my salad and shook my head. She smiled and nodded.
"You know what we should do Anne?" My mom suggested.
Cass's mom looked up from her plate and smiled.
"You, me, Manny, and Gregg should all go out drinking tonight!" My mom said excitedly
She nodded and everybody agreed.
"What about us?" I asked gesturing towards Cass.
"Oh you Gus will be fine!" My mom yelled.
They all finished up and my mom did the dishes. They headed out and said they'd be gone for about an hour or so. I sighed and nervously made my way towards the couch.
"Wanna go swimming?" I shrugged.
"Yeah but my swim suit ripped" she sighed.
"Oh that sucks" I said.
"But I'll go borrow my moms" she said heading towards the door.
I slightly smiled and nodded. I suggested to go back to the cliff because it was really nice and it was super cool. I ran upstairs to find mine and then ran back down. She came back with an extra shirt and her radio dressed her swimsuit. We took my truck heading down towards the area from last night. We looked out and the moonlight was prettier tonight then last night. We jumped in yelling a bit from excitement as the cold water rushed through my body. We played around for a while, and then headed back towards the car. We sat down listening to music resting back on a blanket she brought. I whipped out my guitar turning off the radio.
"Wanna hear?" I asked.
"Sure! I've never really heard you play. Are you good?" She asked cocking an eyebrow.
