Hospital Beds

I woke up in a big white bed with a sleeping Cass next to me in the chair. I heard beeping in my ear and some cords were connected to me. Her hand was interlocked with mine. I felt dizzy and weak. I nudged Cass awake and she jumped a little.

"Oh thank god, you're awake!" She chuckled hugging my neck.

"What happened?" I asked.

She paused and sighed.

"Shawn you tried to kill yourself"

"What?" I said panicked.

"You were really mad at me and you hit me and-"

"I HIT YOU?!" I said worried more then ever.

I tried to get up but she pushed me back down.

"Shawn you were really drunk... It's okay" she said looking at her fingers calmly.

"NO ITS NOT OKAY! I CANT BELIEVE I HIT YOU IM SO SORRY CASS!" I yelled almost in tears.

"Shawnie, it's okay. I love you" she smiled.

I exhaled and smiled back.

"I love you so much Cass" I said hugging her tightly nestling my face in her neck.

"I promise I won't ever leave you" she said.

"Me too, me too" I sighed.

"Shawn!" Cass yelled as I sat in bed looking at the shattered picture frame laying on the ground.

"You okay?" She asked slowly walking in.

"Did I do this?"

She nodded and started cleaning it up.

"I can't believe how big of a monster I was!" I said covering my face.

"Shawnie, babe, it's okay" she said holding my cheeks.

One tear left my face and she wiped it away. I laid down and I snuggled up against her. I was so stunned.

"C-Cass why'd you help me?" I asked looking up.

"Because I love you a lot more then you think Mendes" she chuckled.

I smiled and pecked her lips. We fell asleep not having a care in the world.

I got a text from asking if I was alright and I replied with "yes, I'm fine". I walked downstairs looking for something to eat. I saw a batch of chocolate chip muffins and got excited. I ran over to them devouring at least 5. It felt like I haven't ate in three weeks. Cass walked back downstairs smiling while stretching.

"I cannot thank you enough Cass, you know that right?" I said finishing my last muffin.

She smiled and nodded. I looked at my phone and saw so many people tweeting me about what happened. I tweeted that I was fine and Cass saved me. They really liked Cass so they were all tweeting her now. I smiled and looked up at her. I thought about what I did and I needed to let her go. As hard as it is, she doesnt need me. Someone who is so abusive doesn't deserve someone so perfect like Cass.

"Cassidy-" I started. "We need to talk"

We sat on the couch and she waited for me to speak. Nothing would come out, I didn't want to break up with her but what if I hurt her again? I could never forgive myself.

"We need to break-"

"no! Shawn! Don't!" She said tears filling her eyes quickly.

"I'm sorry Cass, but it's for your own good! I am a horrible human being and you don't deserve to be hurt like that!" I stopped her.

"Shawnie, please don't I love you so much-"

"Cass! Please"

She sobbed into her hands and a couple tears streamed down my own face. I've never felt this heartbroken in my entire life.

"Cassidy please please let me let you go from all this pain" I said wiping away her tears.

"Shawn. I'll be heartbroken forever if you do this"

I sighed and shook my head.

"I can't have you get hurt anymore, it's not fair to you"

"But I'm in love with you" she sobbed. "I'm in love with your hair, your smile, your voice, the way you laugh, your personality, you're so perfect Shawn Mendes and I can't let you go this easily"

I covered my face.

"Cass, I ache for you, I need you, I love you, but I'm no good for you!" I screamed.

She jumped back and continued to sob. She grabbed her purse crying and ran out. I held my knees to my chest sobbing into them. My life is a never ending series of pain and heart break. She's loves you more then anything Mendes and you just let her go like that.

I rubbed my eyes from sleep and heard the doorbell. My heart was pounding I was hoping it was Cass. I ran over and opened the door to someone I would have never guessed it would be.

"Jess?" I said confused letting her in.

"Oh my god! I was worried sick about you!" She said holding my face.

"What are you doing here?" I asked pushing her hands down.

"I just wanted to come check on you"

I nodded slowly closing the door behind her.

"I'm fine" I replied coldly.

"Shawn- I still love you"

"Get out!" I commanded.

"Shawn please!"

"No! I hate you! I'm in love with someone else" I said looking at the floor.

"No you don't Shawn, I was your first everything" she smirked pushing me against the wall.

She kissed my neck sucking lightly.

"Get off!" I yelled pushing her off.

She scoffed and ripped down my pants.

"I bet she can't make you feel the way I make you feel" she said evilly.

I closed my eyes as the door swung open. I was smashed against the wall and tears were forming in my eyes.

"Cass help!" I yelled.

Jessa ran over to her smacking her across the face. I pulled my pants back up grabbing Jessa and pulling her off of Cass. Cass crawled away holding her face.

"Get the fuck out of my house!" I yelled to Jessa.

She stomped out driving quickly away.

"Cass you okay?" I said helping her up.

"I think so"

"I'm so sorry, that was my ex she attacked me!"

She nodded but she didn't looked convinced.

"I swear nothing happened, except she kissed me" I sighed.

"I came over to tell you to take your medicine for your hand" she said wiping her bloody lip. "Bye Shawn"

"Wait, are you mad at me?" I said grabbing her arm.

"No" she lied.

"Don't be mad Cass, she tried attacking me I swear on my career!" I yelled.

She sighed and smiled.

"Okay, I'm gonna go home now"

I tried to peck her cheek but she dodged it.

"Why are you mad at me?!" I yelled rudely.

"Because you broke my fucking heart Shawn! I loved you and you let me go!" She yelled sobbing a bit.

She stormed out and I sat on the floor devastated.
