Chapter 16

***Mitch's P. O. V.***
We can find her. Oh my goodness, we can save her. I look at Kathy with hope in my eyes as she stares at her phone. After what seemed like eternity, she exclaimed "I got it! Her phone is at 12345 Pivet Drive! It's close!"
"Oh my gosh," I mutter under my breath and I can feel Jerome's eyes on me. "M-Mitch, what do you wanna do?"
"I have absolute zero clue dude."
I see the confused look on Kathy's face, so I explain to her that the address is Maki's, the girl from the party.
"Ooohh... OH! Well what are we gonna do then?"
"We just have to go get her," I state blankly. I notice the look Jerome gives me, asking if I'm sure. I simply nod my head, but I'm not sure how I actually feel. Of course I 100% want to save Alyssa, but Maki's crazy. She almost set my house on fire after we had a fight. I'm just so scared for what she'll do--what she's already done--to Alyssa. "When do we leave?" asks Jerome.
"Now."

***Jerome's P. O. V.***
We call in a doctor to ask if Kathy can leave. He explains to us that she still has to go through multiple tests before she can be in a good enough state; we all ground simultaneously. "How long do you plan to take her out for?" he asks.
"Only for today, real quick and then we'll be right back I promise. Plus she won't be under any like extreme stress or anything. Just a car ride," I plead. However, the doctor still looks unsure. "Please, it's crucial that she goes with us," Mitch pitches in.
Finally, he gives a slight hesitant nod and begins to unhook her from the machines. Once he's finished he says that he needs to go grab some paperwork for her dispatch. As he walks out, we plan "Operation: super epic rescue."
Step 1: Call the cops, explain the situation and give them Maki's address.
Step 2: Pick up flowers and chocolates.
Step 3: Park a few houses down from Maki's
Step 4: Have Mitch "apologize" to Maki and beg to get back together.
Step 5: Maki falls for it. Mitch stalls.
Step 6:Police come and arrest Maki while we take Alyssa.
Step 7: Super "friendship always wins" high-five. Get back to the hospital.
We sign all the papers the doctor brings back and roll out. Here we go.

***Alyssa's P. O. V.***
When I hear the doorbell ring upstairs, I feel a surge of hope go through me. "I'm so sorry Maki. I should have never stood il for that stupid little shrimp and sent you out. I'm so sorry baby. I love you so much. Please forgive me?" Mitch?!?! How could he do this to me? I feel my eyes burn and my cheeks moisten.
"Oh Mitchy-poo, I knew you'd come back. I love you so so much!"
I feel the tears of rage and pain stream down my face. I knew I wasn't good enough. How could I even think that the Mitchell Donnell Ralph Hughes had actually loved me? I try to untie the ropes with all the strength I could muster when all I want to do is crawl up in a ball. They continue to talk all lovey-dovey. All my emotions course through me as I feel the rope loosen. Finally, I get it free, exposing my raw stinging flesh but I don't care. I tie the rope the way I've practiced so many times and fasten the other end to the pipe above me. "I'm sorry guys, I can't do it anymore."
I hoop the noose around my neck and kick the chair away. I hear sirens coming from outside and Maki screech, "What-" before all is black.
