***Mitch's P. O. V.***
I hear the sirens wail outside and pretend to be confused as I look out the window. "Hmm... I wonder what they're doing here," I say, trying to sound as nonchalant as possible.
"Does it even matter? Just pay attention to me," Maki angrily snaps back with the slightest hint of worry in her voice. I turn my head back to her with a smirk playing on my face as the door bursts open. "Mitchell Donnell Ralph Hughes, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!"
Jerome rushes in right after the cops, "Basically, he's telling you that you're a stupid b*t*h-" I'm running around the house trying to find Alyssa before I can hear the rest of his sentence. I call her name over and over again, opening all the doors, searching all the rooms. I make it back to the living room when I realize I didn't check the basement. I run to the door just to find that it's locked. "Hold on Alyssa! I'm coming!" I shout while ramming myself against the door continuously before it finally bursts free. I turn on the light and run down the steps as fast as my legs will carry me before I stop dead in my tracks. (*cue song*) I feel frozen, paralyzed when I see Alyssa's limp body hanging there. I notice Jerome run in and tells something at me, but I can't hear anything above the ringing in my ears. Everything is moving in slow motion. He takes her down and gives her CPR with tears running down his face. The blast thing I see is the paramedics entering before I'm engulfed by darkness.

***Jerome's P. O. V.***
I try to listen for her pulse but find nothing. I scream for help and at Mitch for just standing there. No no no no no. "Don't you dare Alyssa. Don't. You. Dare." After an eternity, the paramedics run in with a defibrillator. "Clear!" They listen for her heart beat. "Clear!" They lift her onto a stretcher and roll her up the stairs and into an ambulance. I turn back to face Mitch to see him lying face down. "No not you too. HELP! Please somebody help!" I shout, "Mitch. C'mon buddy get up. Get up!" The medics come back and check his pulse before telling me that he'll be okay and taking him out on a stretcher. Kathy enters next, wrapping her arms around me as I bury my head in her chest sobbing. I wanna be strong for her. I should be the one holding and comforting her right now, but I can barely breathe. Why did all of this have to happen?

***Kathy's P. O. V.***
As he lay sobbing, gasping for air in my arms, I feel the tears pour down my face as well. Alyssa... I should have been here for her. I should have never let her out of my sight. She must have been so tortured to want to do this. I promised her that if she ever felt like this, I would be there for her. I have to be strong--for her, for Jerome, for Mitch. It's just so hard being the strong one for everybody else.
After who knows how long, Jerome and I finally separate and I can see everything he's feeling just by his eyes. We stare deeply at each other before he says, "We should go meet Mitch at the hospital." I stand and extend my arm to his. He takes it and we walk out hand in hand and into the car. I decide to drive, seeing that Jerome is in a kind of daze. Once we get out of the car, we interlace out hands again. The nurse at the front directs us to Alyssa's room. We walk in to see Mitch already there, holding her hand in his, muttering under his breath. 'Oh poor Mitch' I think as I see the way he looks at her--with so much affection, care, Love. All at the same time. Alyssa's so lucky to have him.
Then another thought hits me. What if she doesn't make it? What if she doesn't remember anything like me? What if she didn't want to be saved? 'Oh my baby' I bury my head in my hand and feel Jerome wrap his arms around me. Mitch finally picks his head up and acknowledges us. But the look in his eyes, it's terrifying.
A doctor comes in with a blank face. "Well,"
