As I walked down the familiar road to my house, I realized that I would, unfortunately, have to explain all this to my parents. All of a sudden my Blackberry started playing my ringtone, Cannibal by Ke$ha, and when I looked at the screen... it was KC! I pressed the green talk button.
"Hello?"
"Hey! It's KC," He paused trying to think of more to say "I just got back from the gym and..."
"Sure," I interrupted "even if it were true it wouldn't help. You're a vampire."
"What can I do to impress you?"
"Nothing! I can't be impressed."
"We'll see about that," he paused "where do you want to go out tonight?"
"How about dinner and a movie?"
"Ok... as long as it's not some vamp romance movie. The last one about killed me."
"Ok. I'll meet you at the park on 11th in an hour" I said then immeaditly hung up the phone.
I finally reached my destination... the house. I blew through the door without saying a word to my family. I rushed to my bathroom to find my makeup box. I opened the manilla colored cabinet and dragged the makeup box to my bedroom. I tore up my room looking for an awesome outfit to wear. I heard my door slam against the wall. Out of instinct, I turned around, hissed, and flashed my fangs. When my eyes focused I saw it was my mom who barged in!
"I am so sorry!"
"What happened? You rushed through the front door and didn't say a single word. I was worried!" she said in her motherly tone.
"Sorry! I am going out in an hour... I... was just rushing."
"Ok, Stella. Clam down! Who is he?"
"A guy named KC. Is that all? I need to get ready."
"Yes, that's all. Although, if you turn your dinner date into dinner... let's just say that I'm not getting you out of it."
"Ok mom. Love ya!"
I slammed the door behind her. I continued searching the room for a perfect outfit. After five minutes of searching I came across a royal blue mini dress. Perfect! I wanted to tell my mom that KC was a vampire, but what would she think? Would she say "that's good!" or "he's a what?!", so I decided to put it aside until tomorrow. Only one thing was on my mind. That thing was to have a perfect first date with KC. I threw my clothes on the floor and changed into my mini dress. I opened up my shoe collection closet and found my favorite pair of high heels. The blue converse with heels, but those would have to wait for another time. I grabbed the blue flip flop wedges. I hooked the straps to my purse and decided to put them on as I left. I opened up my purple, music playing, makeup box and carefully put on royal blue eye shadow, black mascara, and put on rose-colored lip gloss. With a quick "bye" to my family, I grabbed my purse and ran out the door with only ten minutes left on the clock. I ran only a little faster than humnaly possible, and it still turned heads.
Crap! My hair! It must look really messy right now! I planned to curl it, but I guess messy straight hair was ok. five minutes remaining! I ran across the busy street without looking. It would only hurt the car of course, but I didn't want to make a scene. The park was just around the corner. Yes! Made it on time with two minutes to spare. I pulled down my mini dress a little lower so that I didn't send the wrong message. I ran my fingers through my hair trying to pull out some of the knots. I unstrapped my wedges from my purse and slid them on. I walked toward one of the five wooden benches of the park. My phone, once again, started playing my awesome ringtone. It was KC again. I pressed the green button on my phone and answered "This is Stella."
"Hey Stella! Are you at the park yet?" he said a little nervously.
"Yeah! Of course," I replied in a very nervous voice. "I'm at the bench closest to the back entrance of the park."
"Ok. See you in about... two minutes."
"Ok. Bye." I nervously ended the call with a large snap sound.
Crap! I just got this phone! Mom is going to re-kill me! Every time I have dated a guy my cellphone gets snapped in half. I started to look around the park for him. Five minutes had past and no sign of KC. Was he lost? Could he not see me? Did something bad happen? Just then I caught a glimpse of a perfect pale teen with a leather jacket on. KC was trying way to hard. It was somewhat sweet, but on the other hand it was annoying. His effort made me giggle my little girl giggle. He arched his right eyebrow at me. I guess he noticed why I was giggling because he pulled off his jacket and threw it on the ground. My heart would be racing right now if I were human. He sat down next to me on the old and rotting wooden bench. He slid his hand under my hand and squeezed me.
"Ok. Now I'm totally impressed!" I said, almost, shaking.
He smiled. So far the date is going great! Maybe he is the one. A girl could only hope. I smiled back at him... flashing my fangs. When I noticed I did that I quickly closed my mouth and searched the perimeter for any witnesses. He pulled my chin, with one of his cool fingers, and made me face him. He leaned in to kiss me! I couldn't kiss him! I just couldn't! I pulled away from his grasp. I got up and started to walk away. I felt so embarassed! Vampires are not supposed be affectionate with each other. Especially not in public! I turned around to see he was following me. I ran back across the street to my house. If he was smart, he wouldn't follow me back to my house. I looked back and he wasn't there. Good! I guess he's not as stupid as I thought. I blew through the door as I had earlier. This time I locked, bolted, and stuck the strongest chair I had under the door knob. I flopped, face first, onto my bed. I stayed there the whole night. I didn't even say a single word to my little brother! I only had one thing left to say...
"I can NOT be falling in love woth him!"
