I Know You
Our mothers walked through the door. Aunt Maria came bursting through the door making a b-line for Sam wrapping her in a deep hug. Aunt Amy did the same, running over to Morgen a tear slowly falling down her face.
"You're ok, you're all ok." She said to herself, trying to get herself to calm down.
My mother walked over to me looking at me in a way that told me that if this went on, I would have to handle Sam's dad. We would never say this out loud, but my mother knew what I was, she knew what I could do and I was willing to do it for my friends to protect them from anything.
"I swear to god if that bastard did anything to the four of you, I am going to hunt him down and kill him with my own two hands." Aunt Maria said looking at all four of us.
"Mom its fine Seraphina was going to completely handle down but then Damon and his bodyguard stepped in so Seraphina did not even have to use her magic." Sam said looking at Damon and then his bodyguard.
"Hello mams I am Mr. Kerson. I am the bodyguard of the young mister Black." Mr. Kerson said reaching out his hand to Aunt Maria.
They shook hands and he then shook Aunt Amy's and my mom's.
"I wanted to inform you that even though its my job to watch over the young mister Black while I am at the school I will also watch to ensure that James Anderson stays far away and if he does show his face I will work with the police to bring him back into custody." Mr. Kerson said looking at all our moms ensuring our safety.
Oh, come on! I could have handled James Anderson on my own, I could still handle him if I truly wanted to. Now I have some random bodyguard who is going to be "watching out for us?" Come on this has got to be the worst turn of fate to happen all day.
"Oh, thank you so much Mr. Kerson we can't thank you enough for looking out for the girls." Aunt Maria said her face showing so many emotions that even I was surprised to see that.
"And thank you Damon for stepping in and helping the girls." Aunt Amy said her tears are getting far worse.
I say again OH COME ON! Damon Black is pig headed and spoiled, I can't even right now. I keep all my true feelings shoved deep deep inside and just keep a neutral facial expression.
"It's no problem mam really Mr. Kerson is the one who did most of the work." Damon said and he did a slight smirk at me.
Why me just why.
"Well, you both must stay for dinner." My mother said, trying to be nice.
"Yes! Stay for dinner please it's the least we could do." Aunt Amy stated
"Oh, we couldn't I should really be getting young Black home." Mr. Kerson stated
"Yeah, my father won't be happy if I stay out to late but thank you for the offer." He said then looked to me with a smile on his face.
Damon and Mr. Kerson finally left, the front door closing behind them with a heavy thud. Damon's smug grin was the last thing I saw before blessed silence returned to the house.
We all shuffled to the dinner table like we were walking into a courtroom instead of sitting down to eat meatloaf. Normally dinners were loud—Sam cracking dumb jokes, Nora trying to one-up her, Morgan trying to sneakily read under the table but ultimately joining in the jokes, but tonight? Silence. Just the scrape of forks, clink of glasses, and the weight of unspoken tension hanging over us.
