Chapter 44

"This fucking sucks."  I curse as I stare at the book open and sitting in front of the fire. "There were only two ingredients left, are you sure you can't remember them?" I ask for the thirtieth time.

"I'm trying, but it's hard. I just can't." Alex breathes out. I huff in annoyance as I throw my self back on the couch.

"What if we just leave the island?" I ask inquisitively, though Pan just laughs. "No, I'm serious." I say quickly, sitting up on the couch.

"That would never work." Pan spits out quickly and rolls his eyes at me and I become frustrated.

"Think about it. When I went through the hole, I went back to normal life. We all could, and we all could be together." I say seriously and Pan looks at me solemnly.

"That would never work," Pan says again and I'm about to lose it.

"And why's that?"

"I can't leave this island." He states sadly. "I need to be here. This is home, and it always will be." His voice hints in a bit of guilt. I want to ask him about it, but I keep to myself.

I sigh, "so I'm stuck here. I guess all we can do is try to remember the last two ingredients. Is there anyone else who might know the ingredients?"

"Felix read it a few times, but he would never remember." Alex says quickly before checking back up on the book.

"Why don't we ask him?" I ask open-mindedly, but quickly Pan shakes his head.

"He is now and enemy to you, to me, to Neverland. And besides, if he knew, he would never tell us anyways. " Pan says spitefully.

"You don't know that." I blurt quickly.

"Well, I'm going to go to my hut to take a nap, I'm exhausted." I say, standing up and stretching my limbs. Pan stands up as well and places a kiss on my forehead.

"Get some rest." We share eye contact and I shake my head before exiting the hut. It has cleared up a bit outside though the ground is very muddy.

Instead of walking to my hut, I quickly walk into the forest, hoping not to run into any lost boys.

The trees surround me as I dodge my way through the forest.

I know if Pan knew where I was going, he would kill me. So he can never find out.

I finally reach my destination. I walk up to the tree where a rope hangs from, before pulling that rope. Slowly, through the leaves, emerges a bamboo cage holding a smirking boy.

"Hello Felix."

We are reaching the end of the book and I am becoming a bit upset!!! Would you guys want an epilogue??
