My eyes fly and open and my heart races. It worked. It really worked! But something's not right.
I move my head only to hit it on the top of the bamboo cage I am trapped in.
"No, no, no, no!" I yell. "No! This is not right, this is not right." I lean back in the cage, absolutely frustrated. Why am I trapped here, when I should connecting with Pan!
I look down and notice I'm hung up in a tree, very high. Another cage swings next to mine, where inside, Alex sleeps peacefully.
"Alex. " I yell over and his eyes flutter open. Immediately, he springs up and takes in his surroundings. The most shocked look falls upon his face and he looks nervous.
He opens his mouth to speak, "Are we-"
"Yep." I cut him off, knowing what he was going to ask.
"And we're stuck-"
"Yup." He scratches the back of his neck in confusion.
"Who put us here?" He questions. I shrug because I honestly don't know. What I do know is, that whoever put us up here, what angry by our presence.
"Should we yell for help?" I ask Alex, but he quickly shakes his head.
"This island is huge, we could be anywhere. The boys could be all the way on the other side for all we know." I huff in my cage and cross my arms.
"I guess no one is coming for us anytime soon." I groan. Just as I say that, footsteps are heard below us and Alex and I share a look.
"Help! Help!" We begin shouting. Suddenly, the cages begin lowering slowly to the ground together. Once our cages emerge through the leaves of the tree, we are met with the wicked face of Felix.
"You're the one saving us?" I ask him. Felix rolls his eyes and laughs at me very rudely.
"Why would I save the people I trapped?" He chuckles out, menacingly. "That means I would've wasted my time!"
"Why the hell, did you put us up here?" Alex asks harshly and a bit annoyed. Felix looks to him tiredly.
"Because it's been a long time, since Pan has seen you two, and I wouldn't want old feelings arising." Felix spits.
"What?" I say, absolutely confused. "I've only been gone a day."
Felix rolls his eyes yet again. "Time doesn't exist here." Felix snaps like I'm dumb, "so things move a lot quicker. And well, if there were time, it would've been years since Pan has seen you."
"Well I'm sure he would want to see us, and now you're taking that from him!" I scream.
"A lot has changed around here, Princess. More importantly, Pan has changed. Things are better without you two, and I want to make sure it stays that way."
"You can't hide us forever! Pan will find us." Alex shouts to the awful boy.
"He won't ever know you're here," he smiles before pulling to clocks out of his bag. "Not without these at least!" Felix grins one last time before pulling the rope by the tree, and lifting us back up where no one can see us.
I scream in frustration and kick the side of the cage with my foot.
"I am not letting, Felix, stop me from seeing Pan." I sigh out.
"Well I don't think there much we can do stuck up here." Alex says calmly. An idea then pops into my head.
"Swing towards me." I say to Alex.
"What?" He squeals.
"Swing toward me!" I yell and Alex complies, a bit scared. I push my cage towards his and he pushes his towards mine. The cages touch and my hand snakes out of the cage to grab his. "Grab onto my cage." I direct and Alex holds on tight to one of my bars. "Now pull, and lean back as hard as you can."
We lean and lean, until finally, the bamboo rods we were holding onto, break into our hands.
"Yes!" I smile. Alex looks to me, a bit confused, but happy none the less. I begin to use the sharp end of the rod to cut open the other ones. Once Alex realizes what I'm doing, he follows my motions.
I cut open a few rods, before being able to jump to the nearest tree. I stand on one of the branches, waiting for Alex. Once he finishes, he jumps to the tree and we both climb down together.
"Aria, you are a genius!" Alex yells when our feet hit the floor. I smile before running off, Alex very close behind me.
I run and run until I reach the waterfall. I smile widely at the sight and so does Alex. "I know exactly where to go from here." Our trek continues through the forest until we reach the clearing. The boys, sit around the fire, with no dancing occurring. Pan sits farther away with his back to us and arms crossed. I feel a bit sad at the sight. No happiness is left in Neverland.
I look to Alex and he looks to me, before we take a further step into the clearing, revealing ourselves to everyone. The first lost boy to notice us is John. His eyes go absolutely wide and he looks like he wants to cry.
He stands up and stares to us with the most shocked, yet happy, expression. The rest of the boys turn to where he's looking and we smile. Gasps and 'oh my!'s fill the air and my heart melts.
"What's all the fuss about!" A deep and angry voice yells from the side. Pan stands from his seat and turns directly to Alex and I's spot.
"Hello, Pan."
