Prita and jiv are blessed with twins, vinay and venbha... The twins had finally drifted off after what felt like an endless bedtime struggle. Prita lingered by their crib a little longer, watching their tiny chests rise and fall, her fingers gently stroking the soft curls on her son and daughters forehead. Jiv leaned against the doorway, arms folded, quietly admiring the scene.
“Finally asleep?” he asked in a low, teasing tone.
She turned her head, smiling faintly but tiredly. “Hmm. Don’t jinx it. If they wake up again, you’re taking the next shift.”
Jiv smirked, walking in and sliding his arms around her waist from behind, chin resting on her shoulder. “I’ll take any shift. As long as it comes with this view.”
Prita rolled her eyes. “You’re impossible. I look like a mess and you’re still flirting.”
He chuckled, his lips brushing the shell of her ear. “You don’t get it, do you? I’ve been waiting all day for them to sleep… just so I can have you.”
Her breath caught, and she quickly stepped out of his embrace, pretending to adjust the blanket over the twins. “Stop it, Jiv. I’m not… I don’t look the same anymore. You don’t have to act like…” Her voice trailed off, softer now, betraying her insecurity.
Jiv tilted his head, narrowing his eyes. “Like what? Like I don’t want you?”
She didn’t answer, just pulled her dupatta tighter around her chest and walked toward their bedroom.
By the time she sat on the edge of the bed, Jiv had followed, shutting the door firmly behind him. The faint click of the lock made her pulse jump.
“Prita,” he said slowly, walking toward her, “do you really think I don’t notice how you’ve been avoiding me?”
Her lips parted, but she stayed silent. She lowered her gaze, clutching the blanket, trying to cover her stomach. The softness, the stretch lines—every part of her body reminded her of how much she had changed. She couldn’t imagine Jiv finding her attractive anymore.
Jiv knelt in front of her, forcing her to look into his eyes. His hands caught hers, pulling the blanket away with deliberate force.
“You carried our children. You gave me a family. And you think these marks make you less?” His voice was rough, threaded with both anger and desire. “Damn it, Prita, they make you more.”
She shook her head quickly, cheeks flushed. “You’re just saying that…”
Before she could finish, Jiv’s mouth was on hers—hungry, demanding, his tongue pushing past her lips until her protest melted into a whimper. He kissed her like he’d been starved, his hands gripping her thighs, dragging her closer to the edge of the bed.
When he finally pulled back, breathless, he whispered against her lips, “I’m not saying it. I’m going to show you.”
Her heart thudded hard in her chest. For the first time in months, she felt heat coil low in her belly. Jiv’s eyes were dark, wild, his body already pressing into hers.
And when he slid his arms under her, lifting her easily and tossing her back onto the pillows, Prita knew—tonight, she wouldn’t be able to hide.
Prita lay back against the pillows, her breath uneven, the blanket tangled around her legs. Jiv stood over her, his chest rising and falling, eyes locked on her as though she were the only thing in the world that mattered.
When she tried to pull the blanket over herself again, he grabbed it and tossed it onto the floor. “No more hiding.” His voice was low, commanding, threaded with hunger.
