Thursday Press Conference – Baku GP

The three drivers sat in their assigned seats under the glaring lights, microphones angled toward them. George leaned back in his chair, composed as ever. Max had his head bent over his phone, scrolling with pointed disinterest. And Lando... Lando sat forward, elbows on the table, jaw tight. He hadn't so much as glanced at Max since the start. The silence between them was its own headline.

The journalists, smelling tension, pounced.

Journalist:
«Lando, let me start with you. You had two weeks away from the car .. Can you tell us where you spent your break and how it was for you?»

Lando's lips curved into the faintest smirk, like he already knew where the question was going. He leaned into the mic.

Lando:
«Yeah, it was... good. Different. I got the chance to just... disappear a bit. Watch some tennis, enjoy New York. It's rare we get to just sit and be fans of another sport, so... I took full advantage of that.»

The journalist pressed, eyebrow raised.

Journalist:
«Right... and you were spotted courtside a few times. Supporting someone in particular?»

Lando tilted his head, curls falling slightly into his face. His grin sharpened.

Lando:
«Well, I wasn't there for the hot dogs, let's put it that way.»

Laughter rippled through the room. George chuckled under his breath, then leaned toward his mic with a small shake of his head.

George:
«I'm starting to think you enjoyed that break a little too much.»

Lando shot him a sideways glare, though his lips twitched like he was holding back another grin.

Lando:
«Jealous?»

George:
«Not jealous. Just saying — some of us spent the break training»

Lando:
«Yeah, well, some of us had more fun.»

But through it all, Max sat stone-still, gaze locked on his phone, jaw tight. The glare he'd thrown earlier still hung over the room like a storm cloud. No one dared to ask him a single thing about tennis, or New York, or Milaine.
