Milaine had traded the WTA's opening ceremony for something far more her — a Chanel shoot at the edge of the dunes.
The sun hit her skin like fire, her slightly longer hair flowing behind her as photographers murmured in French.
She has skipped the official WTA finals shoot.. Because she felt like it? Deciding instead to do a photoshoot wuth Chanel.. She didn't care that she'd skipped the official shoot; she'd make up for it later, on her own terms. She always did.
Lando watched from a distance that day, leaning against a black SUV with a bottle of water in hand. She looked entirely in her element — gorgeous, untouchable, effortless.
It made him smile.
While she did what she came here for, Practice, photoshoots , media, he kept himself busy too.
Omar had started warming up to him again — cautiously at first, then with genuine ease — and the two ended up spending an afternoon at Topgolf. They laughed, traded playful insults about each other's swings, and it didn't feel awkward.
For Lando, it was the perfect kind of break. He loved being there — not just with Milaine, but in her world. The rhythm of her days, the people who surrounded her, even the quiet moments between her practices and meetings — it all felt grounding.
They weren't together every hour, and that was fine.
Sometimes he'd find her sitting on the balcony late at night after practice, scrolling through photos from the shoot; sometimes she'd find him dozing off on her couch, still wearing his cap.
But they were there together . And for now, that was enough.
