Minutes passed, and the intensity of the day began to die down. Max and Daniel, now completely exhausted from their stupid tennis match, decided to call it a day. Both of them collapsed onto the grass beside the court, drenched in sweat, exchanging grins of exhaustion.

«Where's Lando?» Max asked, realizing their friend had disappeared.

«He said he went to the bathroom, but that was a while ago» Daniel said, frowning. «He was limping pretty bad.»

Max nodded, remembering the way Lando had been hit by Milaine's serve. «He's probably nursing that ankle» he muttered, glancing toward the pool area.

Milaine was lying there, stretched out on a sun lounger in her bikini, soaking in the warmth after a long swim. Without much hesitation, Max and Daniel got up, deciding to join her.

«Hey, mind if we join?» Max asked, his usual easy grin back on his face.

Milaine barely reacted, giving a small shrug. «Do what you want» she said , not bothering to look up.

The two of them wasted no time, taking a quick dip in the pool to cool off from the heat before returning to sit next to her on the sun loungers. The warmth of the sun pressed down on them, and soon they were all lying back, letting the exhaustion from tennis fade into the quiet of the afternoon.

As they settled in, the silence stretched on for a few moments until Daniel broke it, stretching out his legs. «That was so exhausting, i don't know how you do that for more than 3 hours straight » he said , adressing the tennis professional..

Milaine gave a short laugh before moving up in her lounger to look properly at him «Well you just get used to it, I also question sometimes how you race at such a high speed that long»

«I guess everyone is good at something for a reason» Daniel says , groaning as he did some more stretches..

«Where's Lando?» she asked casually, keeping her tone light, though there was a slight edge to her voice.

Daniel chuckled softly, «He disappeared right after the game. Said he was going to the bathroom, but I think he's just trying to rest his ankle.»

Max nodded, adding looking at her suspiciously «Yeah, you could tell he was in pain after that last serve.»

Milaine rolled her eyes at the look her best friend was giving her , she leaned back into her lounge and just kept quiet..

After a few minutes of silence, Daniel turned his head toward Milaine, squinting slightly from the sun. «So, what's next for you in tennis?» he asked, his tone genuinely curious.

Milaine remained silent for a second, as if thiny whether or not she even wanted to have this conversation. Then she sighed lightly, pushing her sunglasses back up to rest on her forehead. «I will play the Indian wells in early March , Then i will probably play Rome or Madrid , just to prep for Roland Garros , that's my main focus» she said, her voice nonchalant.

Daniel nodded, impressed. «The rolland garros is the big deal huh?»

«Yeah, obviously it's a grand slam » she replied, her tone flat but tinged with sharpness. «but you know i have to go back up in the ranks , that's why I'm trying to participate in as much tournaments as I can.»

Max chimed in, grinning. «You're going to win them all, obviously.. Especially the Roland Garros , it's your home afterall»

Milaine smirked faintly, finally showing a trace of the confidence she was known for on the court. «That's the plan.»

Daniel chuckled, leaning back in his lounger. «God , I forgot you were half french .. Enchanté»

She just laughed shaking her head.
Max leaned forward a little, resting his elbows on her lounge this time «But seriously Milly , you are winning The Roland garros .. »
