After about an hour at the park, I decided to just go home to think about what had just happened. It just didn't feel right, but I didn't know why. I knew that I had feelings for David, but maybe these were just old feelings that had remained in my mind but not my heart. Now that the kiss was over and I thought back to it, those butterflies that I felt were more like moths. Cringy and uncomfortable.

I didn't tell him that I hadn't exactly enjoyed the kiss, but tried to avoid the subject. I had a lot on my mind, considering the fact that I had just kissed a guy who had cheated on me only a little less than a year ago. I began to worry about if I had made the right choice letting him back into my life, let alone agreeing that we should become a couple again. I decided to leave it for a few days just in case my reason for acting like this was out of shock.

"I like David, I really like David"! I said trying to convince myself as I flopped onto my bed.
I was hearing what I was telling myself, but I just couldn't believe it. After a while of thinking, I decide to just stop thinking about it and let my thoughts figure themselves out.
Suddenly I heard a loud knock coming from my door so I hurried over and opened it.

"Hey, grab your purse! We're going shopping for the party on Friday" Harriet said, her voice excited and high pitched.

"Harriet, how did you get-"

"Your mom let me in" she interjected.

Maybe it would be good to get out of the house, and forget about this David drama for a while I told myself as I fetched my purse from my closet. Harriet smiled at me as I flipped my dark blue purse over my shoulder.

"We can take the bus" she said, as we slowly exited my small room.

"Yeah sure" I replied.

"I can't believe that your not with Jack right now, I thought that you guys were inseparable" I laughed.

"Oh we are! But Jack is just getting over the flu and I need to be healthy for the party. And besides, we texted all morning" Harriet giggled.

I rolled my eyes, letting out a small laugh. "Okay Harriet"

Harriet and I hurried over to the bus stop which was fortunately only about a block away from my house, and luckily didn't have to wait very long before the bus arrived. When I stepped onto the bus, the smell of dust and bleach met my nose; causing me to cringe in disgust.
"It smells worse than the girls locker room in here" I whispered to Harriet, as she handed her bus money over to the driver.

Harriet nodded her head discretely, as she let me past her to pay.
We decided to take a seat near the back of the bus, across from was a young man; who I could have sworn was Ryan Gosling. A petit woman Sat beside him. Her bleach blonde hair was styled in a short bob, and I assumed that this woman was his girlfriend since the woman was resting her head on his shoulder.

I rolled my eyes, and let out a small snort. "Typical" I whispered to Harriet as she pushed her dark hair into a bun, that sat perfectly on the top of her head.

"Your just jealous" Harriet replied, teasingly.

"Am not" I laughed. That was a lie. That was the only reason why I had even taken the time to say anything. I was jealous as hell.

For rest of the bus ride, Harriet and I sat in silence. It wasn't that we didn't have anything to talk about, it was just that I had way too much on my mind plus Harriet and I were comfortable with silence. She was my best friend, sometimes silence was nice. I got to enjoy the nice view of the city. Tall buildings, surrounded by trees, and the bridge that crossed the river that led into downtown was just a beautiful sight.
