I stared at my carpeted bedroom floor blankly, my eyes were red and puffy from crying. I had been up in my small room for almost two days. I had texted Corey a few times but he hadn't responded. I had even called him once, but it went straight to voicemail.
David had texted me a couple of times asking me where I was but I never texted him back. Why did I make the stupid mistake of agreeing to coffee with David that day? If I had just said no, none of this would have happened. Slowly I stood up from my bed and walked over to my bookshelf. I shuffled through a few books before pulling out my grade 10-11 scrapbook that I kept. I kept all of my favorite pictures of my friends and I in it, and I thought that it might cheer me up.

Slowly I open the dark, forest green, hard covered book and flip to the first page. A small smile appeared on my face as I stared down at a picture of Harriet, Jack, Corey and I all sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows. A picture right bellow it was a smaller photo of Corey and I. Corey had his arm around my shoulder while I stared up at him, with a large grin spread across me face. I felt my eyes sting with tears, at the good memory. Those times seemed so simple, and carefree. This was a few months before I had met David, and Corey had just met Rachael. Suddenly I heard a quiet knock come from my door, causing me to slam my scrapbook closed.

"Please leave me alone" I said, not even bothering to check who it was.

"When are you going to stop being such a drama queen, and come out of your stupid room"? Ginny's voice asked raised, as I heard the door slowly creak open.

I ignored Ginny's comment as I watched her, silently walk towards me.
"Usually I wouldn't do this, but obviously you need help. Tell me what happened" she demanded.

I was surprised. Ginny wanted to help me? I immediately shot her a confused look and raised my eyebrows.
"W-what"? I stuttered.

"Just tell me the stupid story. What happened Zo?" Ginny replied as she rolled her light blue eyes.

I nodded my head as I slowly spoke.
"On Monday, David asked me to be his girlfriend...and I said yes-"

"Zoe! Oh my god, why"? Ginny interjected, as she pushed her long bangs behind her ears.

"Let me finish Ginny! That night Corey came over and told me that he liked me"

Silence filled the air, and Ginny gave me a confused look.
"Aw poor Corey...but does it really matter"?

I pressed my face into my hands, while tears stung my eyes.
"Yes Ginny, it's horrible. Corey kissed me, before I told him that I was with David. Now Corey is mad at me, because he thinks that I have no self respect. He's also mad because him and his "now ex girlfriend", broke up when I found out that she was cheating on him, with David"! I was the one who told him what I saw. Stupid Rachael and David!" I yelled across the room.

Ginny's eyes widened.
"Wow"

I nodded, and looked at my feet.
"It's just so complicated"! I whined.

Ginny let out a humorous snort, as she flipped her long hair over her shoulder.
I felt a wave of frustration run through me. How could Ginny find this funny? This is anything but funny, it's horrible!
"You find this funny"? I asked, disgusted.

"No, not at all! It's just not that complicated" she replied firmly.

"How isn't this complicated Ginny"?

She shrugged.
"Why are you even giving David a second chance! You've known Corey for years, and I know for a fact that he would never cheat on you. You should be with Corey, not David"!

"Ginny, he's not even returning my calls" I replied, my voice shaky.

"Oh Zoe, your such an amateur" she giggled.

I raised my eyebrows, surprised by her confidence. She batted her long dark eyelashes and smiled, a fake smile.
"Okay fine Ginny, since you're obviously so good with relationships, what do you suggest I do"? I asked, with a hint of sarcasm in my tone.

"Go find Corey! Forget the stupid phone calls and texts. Look for him Zoe! I say, you dump David's sorry ass and go get Corey"! She replied confidently.

I nodded my head, as I realized that Ginny was right. I was surprised and even considered that maybe I had underestimated Ginny. Maybe she wasn't as immature as I had thought.

David was the same old prick he always had been. Who had known what he did when I wasn't around. For all I know he could be hooking up with some clueless girl right now! For the first time, in a long time, Ginny and I agreed on something.

"Ginny, your absolutely right! I don't know if Corey would even want to be with me now but it's with a shot"!

Ginny nodded her head proudly as she stood up.
"Just so you know Zoe, this was a one time thing. Don't expect me to help you every time you have a boy problem. The only reason to why I helped you is because I can't stand David! Ugh he's just so...ew" she said snobbishly as she stared at me straight in the eyes.

I couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"He is pretty gross" I replied raising my eyebrows.

Ginny smiled, as she quickly walked out of the room. Her long blonde hair swayed as she disappeared around the corner.
Even if Corey didn't want to be with me, the main point was that I was away from David. For the first time in two days, I had a feeling that everything would be just fine.
"Okay Zoe, time to get your butt out of bed and do the right thing" I told myself firmly as I stood up out of my soft bed. Today was going to be an intense day.
