Dakota POV

The next morning I wake up to the most delicious smell I've ever smelt. I open my eyes to see Mackenzie gone from the couch where all three of us had fallen asleep last night. I look farther down the couch to see Piper still fast asleep.

I yawn, sitting up and pulling off the blanket that had been put on me at some point in the night. I walk into the kitchen, seeing Mackenzie at the stove, still in her onesie, but it was pulled down around her waist, revealing a tight tank top that stopped just above her belly button. For the first time, I could see the slight definition of her abs.

She looks up as I walk in, a smile on her face. I smile at her groggily, rubbing my eyes as I sit down at the island.

"Morning, sleepyhead." She says as she puts a mug down in front of me. I look at it, wondering what it is. "It's hot chocolate. It's Pipes' favorite drink, so I though I'd make it. If you don't want it-"

"It's fine." I interrupt, picking it up and taking a tentative sip to see how hot it is. "So, who's Connor?"

"He's my second best friend, beside Piper." She says, turning back to the stove and tending to whatever she was cooking. "He and Piper had been dating since senior year in high school, about three years ago."

"How did you and Piper meet?" I ask, continuing to sip at the hot chocolate. She chuckles, most likely remembering the event.

"We went to the same private school. Her dad's a doctor and her mom is a lawyer. We met in first grade. We were in the same homeroom throughout elementary and middle school." She explains, taking something out of the pan. I look at it to a deep fried triangle.

"What are you cooking?" I inquire, not recognizing the food.

"Puffed french toast. You just take bread, dip it into a batter, deep fry it, cover it in cinnamon sugar, and then eat it. I like to dip it into melted chocolate, but it isn't for everyone." She says, dipping another into what I assume is the batter and drops it into the oil. As that fries, she takes the one she had just take out and starts rolling it in cinnamon sugar. "I also have pancakes, waffles, croissants, sausages, bacon, and cinnamon toast ready, if you want to eat now."

She gestures down the counter and I look over, seeing everything she said was there, as well as fruit like oranges, strawberries, peaches, bananas, and blueberries. I also saw two different kinds of pancakes and waffles, which I assumed to be regular and chocolate chip.

"Are you related to a famous chef or something?" I ask, astonished as I get up and grab a piece of bacon. I take a bite as I sit down, watching Mackenzie smirk at me as continues to cook the puffed french toast.

"Yeah, actually. My aunt is a pastry chef in France and her husband owns a bakery there as well. One of their daughters works as a sous chef at a restaurant in Italy." She answers, turning the stove off and rolling the last piece of french toast in the cinnamon sugar. "Would you mind waking Piper up?"

I nod, going through the doorway and towards Piper. I walk over to her and gently shake her shoulder.

"Piper, breakfast is ready." I say as she groans. She rolls over and cracks open one eye. She closes it again and sighs. I grin, straightening up and beginning to walk into the kitchen. About halfway there, I stop and look back at her with a smirk. "Oh, and there's hot chocolate."

I swear she was in the kitchen before I was.

Mackenzie POV

"Oh, and there's hot chocolate." I hear from the living room and chuckle, knowing that'll get Piper out of bed.

I smile as Piper runs into the kitchen and place a cup of hot chocolate in front of her. I raise an eyebrow at Dakota as she walks in behind Piper. She just smirks and shrugs, sitting down next to Piper.

"So, how are you, Pipes?" I say as I grab three plates from the cupboard. I place two in front of Piper and Dakota and one next to Dakota before going over to the dishes that have the food on them. After I've put those onto the island, I sit down and start getting food for myself. The others start getting food as well.

"I'm fine." She says, taking a bite of a waffle. I raise an eyebrow and she smiles a bit. "Or at least, I will be."

"So, where are you going to stay?" Dakota asks, her eyebrows furrowed. Piper just shrugs. I scoff at her action and they both look up.

"She's staying here, of course." I say, cutting into my waffles and taking a piece to eat. I see Piper shake her head and I raise an eyebrow.

"I can't let you do that. I'll just be a burden." Piper says, shaking her head again while she looks down at her hot chocolate. My eyes widen in surprise at her statement before I put down my silverware and get up. I move out of the kitchen and head towards my closet. Piper and Dakota follow me and Piper is looking at me with worry in her eyes. "What are you doing?"

"Grabbing luggage." I answer, bluntly. Her eyebrows furrow and she crosses her arms. I glance at Dakota to see her smiling.

"Why?" Piper asks as I pull out more bags. I look at her with a raised eyebrow.

"I'm going over to Connor's and getting your stuff." I look back down, grabbing a duffel bag and looking inside, making sure it had nothing in it. After I've got all of the bags, I move into the closet and grab some sweats and a Henley. I slip off the onesie I had on from last night and pull the sweats on. I continue as I come out of the closet, while slipping on the Henley. "And don't worry, I know which stuff is yours and I'll make sure nothing is missing."

Piper looks shocked for a second before she runs up to me and tackles me in a hug. I almost fall but I manage to get a hold of the door way to my closet before I do.

"Thank you." She whispers as I feel my shoulder getting slightly wet. I pull back to see tears running down her cheeks. I bring my hands up and smile at her.

"No need, Pipes. You're my best friend. I'd do anything for you." I say, wiping away her tears. I pull back completely and look at her sternly. "Now, while I go to Connor's, you guys stay here and finish breakfast."

Piper doesn't argue and I look to Dakota, giving her the 'don't-let-her-leave' look. She nods, a large smile on her face. I grab the bags and move out of the room, into the living room where I kissed Dakota on the cheek, causing her to blush.

I smile and head out the door.
