The second Dani stepped offstage with the award clutched in her hand, the sound hit her—cheers, applause, and whistles from everyone crowded backstage.

Crew members, stylists, even other artists waiting for their turn—all of them clapping for her and Rewind like they'd just won the whole show.

Her cheeks flushed hot, but the smile wouldn't leave her face.

"Dani!" someone called. "First one of many, huh?"

Mac grinned beside her, giving her a playful elbow. "Told you we weren't gonna mess this one up."

She laughed, shaking her head. "Guess the garage days paid off."

Each member from Rewind each pulled her into a quick hug before their manager waved them down. "We gotta roll—performance slot's in five!"

"Go kill it!" Dani called after them, still buzzing from the moment.

As they disappeared down the hallway, she turned—and nearly bumped right into Gustavo, Kelly, and Griffin.

Kelly was grinning, Griffin was already talking into two phones at once, and Gustavo—Gustavo was holding the purple rocket-shaped award like he'd just pulled Excalibur from the stone.

"Finally," he said, raising it to eye level. "My first rocket. Took long enough."

Dani tilted her head. "Um... our rocket."

Gustavo waved his hand like it was a minor detail. "Yeah, yeah, Jennings, you were there too. But this—this proves it. I make winners. Platinum albums, hit singles, Tween Choice rockets!"

Kelly rolled her eyes. "Don't let him fool you, Dani. He's been pacing around the office for weeks waiting for this night."

"Months," Griffin corrected absentmindedly before walking away mid-conversation.

Dani couldn't help laughing. "Well, glad I could make history with you, Gustavo."

He puffed out his chest. "You should be. Now go win another one. I got shelf space to fill."

With that, he and Kelly trailed after Griffin, still arguing about office renovations.

She laughed to herself as Gustavo strutted away, clutching the rocket like a crown jewel, when she turned.

And that's when she saw them.

The purple curtain that led to the backstage area swung open, and in walked Carlos, James, Logan, and Kendall—eyes immediately scanning the busy space.

Carlos pointed toward the stage, James adjusted his jacket, and Logan was already glancing around like he had a mental map of where she'd be.

And then Kendall looked up.

For a split second, the noise of the room—the chatter, the clapping, the shouts from stagehands—just... dropped away.

Because his eyes locked on hers.
