Jade's POV

eeeeerrng..... eeeeerng..... eeeerrrrnng!!

The crazy sound of my alarm clock woke me up. I was shocked looking at the time because I never wake up this late. It's 6:30 in the morning and I ran hurriedly onto my bathroom to take a quick shower and as soon as I was done, I then went to my closet to grab whatever top and pair of jeans I could grab in a split of seconds. Time is Gold, that's what they say right?

I ended up grabbing my black halter top that beautifully displays my broad shoulders and collar bone also my black necklace with a silver pendant that I have always been wearing since forever.

I then put on my faded blue skinny jeans and did my hair in a messy bun despite of how damp it still is from the recent shower. I don't really mind about what I wear or how I look at school. I just dress up in a way that I am comfortable with not minding of what others might say. I am not like other girls in school who tries to look somebody that there not. I am proud to be me and their is no one else that I want to be but me. Though I make an exception for Ariana Grande. Let's just say I'm a huge fan of her especially her music and not to mention I would definitely want to be like her someday, an International Recording Artist.

I grabbed my gray sling bag and stuffed my notebooks that I forgot to put inside last night. I slid on a pair of black chucks and went downstairs.

I found my mother  making some pancakes on the kitchen. I also searched for my dad but I guess he already went off for work. Well, my dad is an early bird and he is very dedicated to his job. Thats what had gotten him here in Australia at the first place, met my mom then magic! a cute little girl named Jade Rivera was born, thats me by the way.

"Mom gotta go" I cried out loud and made my way onto her and gave her a big kiss on the cheeks followed by a tight hug.

"No no Jade, I'm afraid you will still have to stay a little to eat your pancakes. I wont let you go to school with an empty stomach you know" said my mom.

She is always this caring about me and she is just the best mom and I love her.

"But I don't want to be late for school mom, you don't want that too right?" I said, hoping for an approval from her.

"Alright but take some pancakes with you in case you get hungry okay?" She said and hurriedly prepared me my pancakes.

As soon as she was done, I bid her another goodbye kiss and went off for school. I love giving my parents hugs and kisses because if I don't I would feel anxious and I get distracted all the way to school until I get home. You know, we never know things might happen.

School was just five minutes away from our house if you take a bus.  This is by far, the third school that I have been to ever since my age permitted me to acquire education. My dad's job requires him to be assigned at any places and as a family we stick together. This is the reason why we had to transfer from place to place here in Australia.

Growing up, I didn't had the luxury of having permanent friends because I had to transfer from one school to another this is the reason why I prefer not having any emotional attachments to anyone in school. Being called as "the new girl" in school is not new to me, I got used to it. Though I also get a lot of rejections and I got bullied too at times but none of it have ever affected me. I am a strong girl,  a fighter and my father would always say to me that life is a battle and that I should always Win the Fight.

As I was about to enter the school hallway, I could feel an awkward silence and mean stare from the students but don't be pathetic on me, I get the same stares all the time.

It's going to be a long way to my classroom so I putted on my EarPods, grabbed my ipod from my pocket and played my I <3 Ariana Playlist in full blast and went on to my first class with my head held high as I sang along.

mi mi mi mi ha ha ha ha haaaaaa...aaa....
mi mi mi mi ha ha ha ha haaaaaa...aaa......

We all sang as Mrs. Hanley, our choir teacher is on the piano. I have been in the school choir for two years now and it is something that I really enjoy a lot especially that I get to do the thing that I am really passionate about which is singing.

"Alright, thats it for todays practice session" Mrs. Hanley announced as she fixes the note sheets that were scattered on top of the piano.

"But before you leave, I would like to tell you a very important announcement" she said and made everyone settled themselves as we prepare to listen.

"There will be an Inter-School Competition for School Choirs next month.  As your choir teacher, I am very happy to announce that our school will be joining and----"

But before she could finish, everyone were already clapping as we all cheer and I saw the guys at the back were doing a high-five. We are all just pleased to hear that our school choir will be competing with other school choirs. The thought made me smile and I turned back to Mrs. Hanley who is now raising her hands facing us her palms signifying for us to keep quiet and ready to continue the announcement.

" and I have already chosen two choir members that will be singing solo at some parts of the three songs that you will be singing with." She said and I could feel that everyone, including me were very excited for her to name those two.

"The first solo part will be sang by a male while the second solo part will be sang by a female. So for the first part I have chosen John Gilbert and...----" she announced and paused when everyone were already congratulating John for getting the part, then she continues...

"The second part, I chose you Jade Rivera to sing it" she told, looking at me and gave me a smile.

I couldn't believe it when she said my name knowing that there are twenty of us in this choir and for her to choose only two and having me as one of them to sing for the solo made me go beyond happiness, I was ecstatic about it!

I could sense some jealousy from other girls in the choir. They were talking to each other and I believe its all about me getting the solo part. I could tell that they were not pleased about it just by the way they look and stare at me.

I don't care about them and I am not worried about that too. I got the part and they didn't that means that I am better than them and I will do my best for our school and for our Choir.

After giving us some more reminders and practice schedules, Mrs. Hanley dismissed us and everyone went out of the music room. I stayed behind and thank Mrs. Hanley.

"That's alright Jade, to be honest It was not difficult for me to choose though. I have seen more passion in you than most of the other girls have and I have seen that every time you sing" she said to me.

"Thanks Mrs. Hanley, I will do my best" I told her and she smiled at me.

I said goodbye to Mrs. Hanley as I headed for the door. I just cant wait for my parents to know about the competition. I paced some of my stuffs inside my locker then headed home.
