I grinned as I watched Draco talking to my mother, chuckles and giggles filling the room as they ate cake. It was my seventeenth birthday, and I was spending it with the two people I cared about most.

"Evelyn," my mother said, happily, "I have something for you. Of course!"

She leaned across the table and handed me a few small boxes. I frowned, beginning to say,

"Mother, you didn't-"

"You say this every year, Evelyn. And you know what?" She smirked, "Every year, I say that I wanted to."

I sighed, turning my attention back to the presents. I opened the first, gasping as I saw a beautiful emerald ring. The stone itself was diamond-shaped, and had a silver stripe across one of its edges.

"It was your grandmother's," my mother smiled, "On your father's side. Her birthstone was an emerald, plus she was in Slytherin. She had no daughter of her own, so she gave this to me before she died."

"Are you sure?" I asked, staring at it in all of its glory.

"Of course," she smiled. "Go on, open the next one!"

I could see Draco staring at me with a goofy grin out of the corner of my eye. He was obviously enjoying this as much as I was.

There were two more packages. The next one was an emerald bracelet which matched the earrings. I knew this would have also been my grandmother's.

The next package was a little more rectangular than the last, and more flat. My mother told me to be careful.

When I opened it, an envelope was inside. Inside I found two tickets to Paris for a week.

"Mother, I-"

"You and Draco are going first thing Monday morning," my mum informed me. "You have two days to pack!"

I smiled at her, "You will be okay alone?"

My mum scoffed, "I always have been, my dear. I want you and Draco to have fun, okay?"

She gave a sly look to Draco, who blushed as she did so. I looked at them confused.

It definitely didn't have anything to do with what Draco and I got up to the other morning, but what was that about?

I shrugged it off as I hugged and thanked my mother again.

"It's alright!" She giggled, "Go on, off you go. I'm sure Draco has something he'd like to give you, too."

I headed upstairs after Draco, who turned to hold my hand as he pulled us into my room.

"I love you, Evelyn," he whispered as he embraced me, "I love you so much."

"I know," I laughed, followed by an "I love you too."

Draco sat me on the bed and looked into my eyes.

"I-... I really didn't know what to get you," he confessed.

I stared back at him, analysing the beautiful grey eyes I'd become so familiar with.

"So..." He trailed off as he handed me a package much like my mother's tickets.

Inside were two tickets booked for a tattoo parlour, the next morning.

He smiled at me, "It can't hurt more than these, right?"

He lifted his sleeve up and pointed at his Dark Mark.

"Thank you, Draco," I said, hugging him tightly. He held onto me as he pushed us down, laying our heads on the pillows.

"What are we getting?" I questioned.

"I thought snakes," Draco said, "I didn't know what my Patronus was until a while ago, but I learned the spell and it's a snake. You're a Parselmouth. It represents ourselves and one another."

"Aww, Draco, you're so cute!" I cooed, cuddling into his side.

"I want to get mine right there," he said, pulling him his shirt and trailing a finger along his ribs on his left side.

I speculated for a moment, then decided, "My upper arm. Trailing around it."

Draco grinned at me, that same goofy smile he was giving me this morning, "Perfect."

A/N: I know that Draco technically doesn't have a Patronus, or at least J.K. Rowling confirmed that he never learnt the spell, so I made it up with the help of Because_It_Was_Real ! So thank you for that, my dear friend!
