Draco's POV

I sighed in relief as Madam Pomfrey explained that Evelyn would be okay, but she may be traumatised.

"The plant she was fed makes you hallucinate whatever she deems the worst thing that could happen to her," Professor Sprout, who had been called here, explained.

"It is likely to be about you, Draco," Snape added.

I frowned at him.

"Don't be stupid. I know," he told me.

"Be careful when she wakes," Madam Pomfrey warned us, "Severus, can you give her this in approximately half an hour? I have to deal with other matters."

I knew whatever she was doing had something to do with Dumbledore. Who wasn't getting involved, after all?

"I have to leave," Snape decided to blurt out, "Is it safe for Mr Malfoy to do?"

Madam Pomfrey agreed and they all left. I was left alone with Evelyn.

I grabbed her hand and felt my body begin to wrack with sobs as I pressed my head down next to our joined hands.

I was just glad I noticed her absence. I would've asked Snape about the possibility of Evelyn being a Parselmouth but I decided to leave it for her to do.

A Week Later

Evelyn had recovered, and although she screamed at me and cried when she first saw that it was me next to her bed, I explained that the plant Ebony gave her made her hallucinate.

"Oh," she replied softly, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay."

"So Neville did give her that plant," she hummed, "Maybe I should teach him a lesson or two."

I remembered the letter I received a few days ago suddenly.

"Evelyn, school's out," I announced.

"Oh, yeah."

I gulped, "Well, my mother sort of caught onto our relationship and I'm glad to tell you that my father doesn't know. So, she suggested that I stay with you and your mother for the summer."

"Your mother is sending you off to my house?" She gasped.

I laughed, "You make it sound like a bad thing."

Evelyn covered her hand with her mouth then removed it to talk, "Of course not! I just thought that your mother would want to be with you. Your father is in Azkaban!"

"She'll be fine," I assured her. "So, you'll have me?"

"Of course!" Evelyn said, hugging me.

"We better get packing," I told her, "The Hogwarts Express already left. Professor Snape promised to apparate us."

"Oh, Draco?" She called as I began to collect up her empty medicine bottles into a pile, "You didn't tell Snape about the snake thing, right? I was hoping to ask him
myself."

"That's exactly why I didn't," I smiled.

At Evelyn's House

"Mother! I've missed you so much!"

I watched as Evelyn flung her body towards her mother, smiling as their faces lit up. They began to talk, then her mum noticed me.

"I'm sorry! Draco, isn't it? What a pleasure to have you stay!" Her mother cooed, "Since we don't have a spare room, you'll be staying in Evelyn's room... On the sofa!"

I chuckled and assured her, "No funny business."

"What a great boy you are! I'll leave you to unpack with Evelyn. You'll be here for about six weeks, after all!"

Evelyn giggled as she told her mum to calm down.

"I'll get dinner on the go!" She yelled through the house, not calm despite Evelyn's orders, "Be back in an hour, children!"

"I'm not a child! Nor is Draco!" Evelyn shouted back.

I already knew I'd have fun there.
