Frankie :

"Isn't there a better room? Or at least just move a bed into my room. That would be better than this." I start to suggest everything and anything to the little girl.

She shook her head and there was a snicker from behind the two of us.

We whipped our head in the direction it came from.

None other than Lizbeth was standing there with a look of hatred and disgust blended together. Her hazel eyes fixated on me.

"Are you not grateful the alpha at least gives you a bed?" The little girl stands there awkwardly waiting for me to respond.

"Yes, I'm just..." I didn't dare say it. She would use it against me forever.

"Let's go Layla. You shouldn't be talking to this bitch." She spat and dragged the girl out of the hallway with her.

I'm not going to go in that room to spend a night. Even if it means I face death.

I turn on my heel to start heading down the stairs and go to my room. Not a living soul stops me, and I'm thankful for that.

I finally reach my room and walk in. Closing the door behind me, I throw myself on to the mattress and spread out like a soaring eagle.

At least we have a mattress sandy tries to comfort me. I chuckle and hear my tummy roar.

Looks like the beast is hungry. Sandy remarks playfully but, she knew we'd have to hold it. Until alpha gives us the okay to at least eat a fruit.

We can always sneak- I start but she immediately cuts me off and I can't help but, know she's right.

Unless you want to get another beating. Sandy says and then she's silent. I suppose she's tired.

I slowly start to drift into a nice sleep when there's a loud bang on my door.

I wanted to curse the person behind the door so badly but, there's no point.

I stand up and start to reach for the door knob when that stupid scent hit my nostrils.

My hand is in midair and I probably look like a lunatic if I could see my face.

"Cara mia, why weren't you in our room when I went in. You were supposed to be escorted to your new room." He says gently. The door knob starts to wiggle and then it starts turning to the left.

First it opens a crack, then an inch, a meter, a yard, an astronomical unit.

"Sorry, alpha. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I just assumed it was a mistake." I lied.

I really wanted a comfortable bed to sleep on.

"Stop calling me alpha. You can just call me Hollis." He gave me a sweet smile and started to reach for me to go out the room but, I reflexively jumped back.

His emerald green eyes darkened to a sea green and his gaze on me was one of regret and so much pain.

"Come on. I'll show you to our room." Hollis started to walk out of my room.

I didn't follow. I was caught on the word our. Hollis expects me to share a room with him after several torturous years.

He expects me to leap into his arms and forget everything?

I started to laugh out loud.

Hollis stopped walking out and instead looked at me confused.

"Frankie?" Obvious confusion laced in his low voice.
