“It’s pretty dark,” I muttered. Alan laughed so hard. It wasn’t a joke. I don’t get why he was laughing.
“What’s so funny?”
“What you just said was beyond stupid!”
“Really Alan? Thanks.” I got really mad and kicked off my sit and began to walk away. I thought he’s not that mean, then this.
“Veronica wait,” Alan said as he stood up, “I’m sorry I’m so mean. And I’m so sorry I offended you.” I rolled my eyes at him and waited for him to say more.
“I’m not really the most talented person in socializing,”
“As am I, Alan, it’s okay. I forgive you.”
“Thanks. So, ugh wanna sit down?” I sat next to him and had quite a chat about the joys if being in the group. They were pretty fun by his stories and even though he doesn’t look like he’s happy, he actually is.
He opened a pack of cigarette and offered me one.
“Umm.. no, thanks.”
“Right, you’re a freshman.”
“Why do you even smoke?” He didn’t answer.
“Alan, you’re killing yourself. Stop!” I grabbed the cigarette from his hand and threw it at the ground and stepped on it. I looked at him dead in the eye and said, “Please stop?”
Alan must have saw how sincere I was and muttered, “sorry.”
“Why do you even smoke?” At first he didn’t answer me but before I decided to ask again, he answered. “I want to feel tough.”
“Seriously? You look really tough.”
“Really? Thanks.”
“So if I were you, I’d stop this.” I said as I got the pack of ciggs and threw them at the trash before he could even stop me.
“Thanks Veronica. I’m sorry I’m so mean.”
“It’s okay, I understand. But why?” When I asked this, I swear there was a change of atmosphere.
Alan told me all about High School, how it started good and when people began to like him, he was bullied and his friends turned against him and he lost his girlfriend until one day on his sophomore year, he got tired of all the bullshit and when his hormones exploded, he punched the bully and with just one shot, the bully got knocked out. And he shouted, “ANYONE ELSE?!” He just walked away like that and ever since that day, no one dared to tease him, in fact everyone got scared of him, he never had any friends. After high school, he convinced his parents to let him study in London. And now, here he is being amazing and awesome in life. I like Alan, I’d love to have someone like him in my life. It would be awesome.
As me and Alan were chatting and exchanging stories about how high school sucked for the both of us, Kelvic went out the door. And he saw me and Alan so he waved at us and he came to where we were.
“Alan! Hey man!”
“Kelvic!” They gave each other that dude handshake and I was shocked like, why do you know each other?
“Wait, you guys know each other?”
“Yeah, see Kelvic here, brings photos we use for the website.”
“I sure do.”
“How about you guys, why’d ya know each other?” Kelvic asked.
“She’s in our club,” Alan answered for me.
