Chapter Nine

Yuuko POV

I look back at the table and I realise that kimiko would have to kill her friends and also her 'lover'. These games are cruel and they change people.
I stand up, pushing my chair out with the back of my legs.
I keep my head down, everyone that knows me here would know the way I act. Cold-hearted but happy towards kimiko.
I don't look at her and walk out, everyone is silent.
"Goodbye Kim-chan" I glance back at her, her eyes brimmed with a tear. Her eyes sparkle like champagne. I stop and my heart skips a beat.
'You're acting so stupid' I thought to myself.
I run up to kimiko and squeeze her tight.
"I missed you so much!"
I realise the guys looking at me so I get off and give them a cold look.
Tch.
The only person that I'll ever need is kimiko, if we're not in the same team I'll let her kill me.
I'll smile while she does, at least I'll die with the one I love.. Kim-chan.
You're my secret lover.
My long black silky hair falls into my face and I sweep it back with my fingers, I look up and kimiko was staring at me and I started going pink.
Kimi.. Kimi-chan!!!
My heart skips beats.
She hugs me. "I missed you Yuu-chan!"
I hugged her back, "I missed you too kimi-chan."
We sat back down and I apologise for my disturbance.
Delicate food is spread around the table, I've never seen so much food in my life!
I look around and it seems like everyone is in relationships, I try to ignore it.
I ate a plateful of food then the man who was telling us the rules that day came up, it looks like he has a special announcement.
"Welcome contestants to Deadman Mansion! You have three more days until the Deadman Forest game actually begins. Within those days you are to train, get used to certain armor and relax. I advise to make the last day your relaxation day." He chuckled.
I won't have a relaxation day, training is my relaxation. Grandpa always said 'if troubles are piled at your feet or if you're scared of what's going to happen, train. Training gets your mind off of things, you hear me?' I would nod then hug him. Grandpa was the candle to my dark room.

"You should all know that their are many twists within these games! So in case you don't I'll tell you:
-Your appearences alter
-No one is aloud in the lower levels of this mansion while the game is in action
-And last but not least, this is rare but, you may have more than one partner!" He finished and everyone look at a him funny, I just simply looked at him with a non-emotional face.
"Yes you hear that, more than one! That is because you have to 'gift' and this proves your power as the strongest Forester out there! Three people teams means that one of them are programmed enemies do not get mistaken by their looks and or actions! The four people team is the most rare! Yes it will still be two-by-two pairs but one of you will have a three way connection if not then all of you! I hope you understand that you all must stay alive because if one dies all die!" He finished, these rules have never come up. Maybe there are stronger and more skilled people here? What it i kill my teammate? What if ... Kimiko.. Dies. I got nervous at that point.

Kimiko looked around the room. "Contestant 27!" I looked up at kimiko, "Y-yes?" "Tell us what you think about this twist, you look the most relaxed." He tossed me a mic, which she had a struggle trying to catch, "I don't think it's so bad, as long as everyone can figure out who is who then we can win, we didn't get picked just because we're lower class we got picked because our records so don't be so quick to give up..." She trailed off at this point.

Everyone seemed impressed and clapped as she tossed the mic back, "That is all. Now enjoy the rest of you're evening!" The butlers and maids opened the doors and before she could even get up she was tackled with requests to be someone's partner, "It doesn't work that way guys." She says with a half smile.
People were crowding her so Rei, nezumi and myself had to get them away. We ran to the furthest room from hers, room 8. Which is Rei's room.
When I step inside It feels like I went to the past, Rei hasn't changed a bit. I laughed and punched his arm.
"You really haven't changed have you?" I look up at Rei and something in his eyes makes me feel weird inside. I look away.
I walk off and then look back up at Rei and kimiko hugging, tch.
Nezumi joined.
I feel really uncomfortable but I sit in the corner while looking at them and accidentally fell asleep.
To be honest.. I don't know who I love anymore.
