He strums the strings on his guitar, tuning it to perfection.

If only I had taken those courses.

The melody flows smoothly, tapping his foot rhythmically, the dulcet strain resonates throughout my ears, sending vibrates through my entire being.

I croon a tune, gradually swaying.

"You could've left me, on a Friday. Would've loved to at least had the weekend, to go under, and to stay under, to-to get better, and to stay better. But you had to, pick a Monday. Now I gotta go to work can't get through five days."

"Mm. Yeah." Connor voice is mellifluous.

My lips curve into a smile, as I continue.

"There's a heartbreaking chill running through my bones. I've got my clothes, but I can't really feel them on! Oh no, whatever I do~. I'm naked, I'm naked, without you! Can't go out, can't go home, can't go anywhere. Covered up, but I'm still watching people stare. Oh. No. Whatever I do, I'm naked, I'm naked, without you~."

The guitar comes to a halt.

Glancing in his direction, he nods in approval.

"You sing beautifully."

His comment nearly causes my heart to leap out of my chest.

"Thanks."

Autumn happens to be one of my favorite seasons.
The cool breeze, the beautiful saffron and russet leaves.
Just the thought itself forms a warmth within me.

To spend it with the one person I love, I'd cherish every moment.

Unfortunately, the one person I do love, happens to have that special someone already.

Wouldn't you know it?

"Do you want something to drink?" I offer.

"No, thank you." He rises. "I am meeting Jacky today. So, I will need to get going."

He smiles that way, every time he mentions her name.

It's frustrating.

To know that she's the one who puts a smile on his face.

"_______, are you alright?"

"What?"

"Is something bothering you?"
