Three weeks later Kindle is getting ready for dinner in her and Tony's room at Avengers tower. The repairs and remodel from the Chatari attack were done and the timing was perfect since the Malibu house was going to have to be rebuilt from the foundations up.
She and Tony had overseen the recovery of important tech and research from the wreckage. And despite his protests, Dum-E and U were recovered and downstairs in the new workshop waiting to be repaired.
Happy had woken up from his coma the day after Christmas and he was convalescing in comfort and catching up on Downton Abby.
Both the Vice President and Trevor were rotting in prison cells somewhere waiting to go on trial for their part in The Mandarin fiasco.
The procedure to stabilize extremis in her system had required some tinkering but that was what Tony did best. Most of the side effects had disappeared as well but Kindle was still stronger than before, not super soldier strong or anything but she could feel the difference. Her immune system and healing factor were also permanently increased, she couldn't regrow limbs but the common cold would never be a problem again.
They had quickly adapted the process for Tony, and the constant fear of the chestful of shrapnel he had carried around was no longer a worry. Rodhey and Pepper had been by her side as she watched the six hour procedure that had removed it and tonight they were celebrating.
Kindle smoothed the material of the long flowing black and white panel evening gown and slipped into the matching black ballet flats and headed upstairs to the living room.

She exited the elevator onto the redesigned, multi floor, living area. There was a gourmet kitchen, expansive bar area and open concept living room that she was incredibly excited to show off to the rest of the Avengers. But tonight it was just her and Tony and he looked up from lighting candles on a beautifully laid out table next to the open balcony windows.

He looked amazing in a classically tailored dark grey suit and Kindle walked over to him with a smile.
He took her hand and pulled her to him, kissing her gently. Kindle turned to take her seat but Tony tugged her towards a side table and the small jewelry box sitting on the surface.
