Chapter 83 Second Stage Children

3rd POV

Mihoko: "Come on, Kirara. Give me back those papers."

Kirara: "How do you survive doing paperwork all day?"

Mihoko swiped the papers back.

Mihoko: "Because they're just words."

Kirara pouted and sat up on the couch. The girls and Mihoko were in Mihoko's office, looking through some research papers that Mihoko's staff had found about time paradoxes. 

Shirabe: "Maybe we should take a break."

Mihoko: "Fine. Only because this one has been stealing my papers."

Kirara cheered. Shirabe chuckled.

Shirabe: They get along better now.

As the three took a lunch break, Shirabe and Kirara's bodies began to glitch. 

Shirabe: "Wha-"

Kirara: "This is...!"

They both started to glow.

Kirara: "Shirabe! This is what happened whenever the sphere device was used to teleport the El Dorado's teams away!"

Shirabe: "What?"

Shirabe looked at Mihoko worriedly, but she simply smiled.

Mihoko: "Seems you're going back home. Don't be sad, this was always going to happen."

Shirabe: "Mihoko-san..."

Mihoko walked over and handed Shirabe a letter.

Mihoko: "Give this to her, won't you?"

Shirabe: "No... wait, there's still so much I want to..."

Mihoko shook her head.

Mihoko: "It's a gift we even met. Thank you, both of you. I... I'll try again. I'll reach out to Shuuya. I won't run anymore."

Kirara: "Mihoko-san..."

Mihoko hugged the both of them.

Mihoko: "Truly... thank you. You gave me the hope and closure I didn't know I needed."

She let them go and smiled.

Mihoko: "It's your time to go home now."

Shirabe: "Mihoko-san!"

Mihoko smiled serenely as the girls reached out before disappearing.

Shirabe: "No!"

Shirabe yelled as the area around them shifted. 

Shirabe: Ugh! My head!

A scene flashed in her mind.

???: "You'll both forget for now. But don't worry, your memories will come back. This is just to protect you from their hands."

Shirabe: "Wait! What are you...?!"

Kirara: "Don't!"

Shirabe: ! A flash of blue hair...? They erased our memories? Of what? Of that moment? Or...

The scenery changed as the girls both landed on the floor.

Kirara: "Ugh... where...?"

Kirara looked up to see that they landed in a large hall.

Taiyou: "Kirara!"

Kirara: ! "Tai-kun! Everyone!"

Taiyou and Shindou rushed over to them, helping them up as everyone followed behind.
