Today was the day of the audition and I was nervous as hell. I had prepared myself as much as I could, but I didn't know what to expect so I was still very nervous. I hadn't told anyone about the audition. Only Perrie knew and I wanted to keep it that way. What if I didn't get it? I didn't want people to think I had failed, so I'd rather tell them after I actually had gotten the part.
I was sitting on the bench in the hallway tapping my feet on the floor and fiddling with my tutu.
"Rosanna Callen?"
I heard a voice. I looked up and nodded as I heard my name.
"You can come in dear." The lady said and so I got up and walked in.
It was just my normal ballet studio so I was used to this room. I saw four people sit in front of me. I recognized my ballet teacher and my jazz teacher. The other two I didn't know. My ballet teacher gave me a small smile as I walked in and that made me a little more comfortable. The other three were just staring at the papers in front of them. I stood before them and I felt my knees shaking.
"Name?"
The lady on the left said without even looking at me.
"Eh.. Rosanna Callen." I stuttered.
She looked up at me and looked up and down my body. She whispered something in the ear of the man sitting next to her and then looked back at me. She nodded at me and I took a step back to get into my start position. I took a deep breath, but I still felt light in the head as I heard the music start. I started to dance and as I started to move I felt my body relax. I danced and for a moment I felt like I was alone in the room. Everything that made me feel nervous before faded into the background and I allowed myself to fly for a moment. The piano melody lifted me of my feet and the violin made my heart dance. This was all I wanted in life. Just to dance without a care in the world.
The music came to an end and I finished my dance. I looked up and saw my ballet teacher look at me with a small smile. The rest was just frowning and I was thanked and waved off. I walked out of the studio and let myself lean against the door as I closed it. A deep sigh left my mouth and I didn't really know if I did well or not.
"So?!" I heard Perrie's voice from the hallway as she rushed up to me.
"I don't know per, their faces gave nothing away." I said and I was even more nervous than I was when I walked in.
"Come on let's go for a drink." She said as she pulled my arm. I laughed and I followed her out.
"So, how are things between you and Harry?" Perrie asked as we sat down.
I was about to answer as the waitress walked over to our table to take our order. We ordered strawberry smoothies and she nodded as she walked away.
"We're good I think." I answered her question.
"Are you official yet?" She asked and I took a moment to think about her question.
"I'm not sure to be honest." I answered.
I saw the waitress come up to our table with two strawberry smoothies. She put them down on the table and I thanked her as I took a sip.
"Do you want to be?" Perrie suddenly asked.
"Be what?" I didn't understand what she was referring to.
"Official. With Harry." She smiled.
Did I? I really liked him, loved him even, but was I ready for another boyfriend. The scars of Thomas were still so deep and I didn't want to drag Harry down my emotional roller coaster.
