It would be beautiful day. If the sky wasn't full of Daleks and the streets not flooded by Cybermen. I never thought it was so terrifying to see Dad's greatest enemies in real life. And I was still crying. It was hard to get all of this out of my mind and think logically again. Actually, it took me a few minutes to realize that I couldn't just leave the Tardis here- in the middle of a huge battlefield. So I sent it back home and decided to phone Mom or leave Dad a message on his psychic paper.
It was probably a miracle that I wasn't seen or killed in my first minutes on this terrible day.
"Get your shit together." I said again and again to myself. It worked after some time. The first and most important question was: Where the hell are my parents?
Doesn't it always come down to that? Whenever you need these two people they are disappeared like they found a magic door to Narnia. I didn't have much time left and I don't work good under pressure.
Suddenly I had an idea. This one time it was a really good idea. Dad from the future was right:
You got a screwdriver and a Tardis. That's all you need. The most powerful things in the world. You can do it.
I never said anything apart from content of science class with self- confidence. But this time I knew exactly that no matter how many Daleks tried to kill me or how many Cybermen offered me an upgrade- I would save mom. So I grabbed my black- blue sonic screwdriver and tried to track down Dad's screwdriver with it. I knew it was possible. And it worked.
He was at Torchwood. But not at Jack's and Ianto's Torchwood- That would be too easy. It was the bad Torchwood. And where Dad was, was hopefully Mom, too.
It wasn't that far away from where I started so I ran as fast as I could. And I have to say for their heavy look Cybermen weren't as slow as I thought.
"You will be upgraded. Surrender or you will be deleted!"
The iron men were a lot more terrifying than Dad had described them. And I definitely didn't want to become one of them. I decided to do what Dad always does in times of danger.
"You know... I don't think I need an upgrade..." I started. Okay, maybe I needed a bit more experience to be like Dad.
"Feelings weaken you... The upgrade will-" replied the Cyberman. Thank god it was only one of them.
I interrupted him. "No... Yeah I know, we're full of flaws. But I actually like the alpha version."
It took the Cybermen a few seconds to find a good reply.
"Surrender!"
I shook my head. "Never!"
It grabbed my shoulder. "You will be deleted!"
It's probably quite sad for a half- Time Lord to admit that a Dalek saved my life. It shot the Cyberman.
"Thank you!" I said to the Dalek and ran.
In my opinion Daleks didn't look as terrible as Dad used to describe them. They were more like angry salt shakers. The Dalek seemed to lose interest in me after a few metres because he saw a group of Cybermen marching down the neighbour street. Again, Thank God. I knew that their weakness was the eye- stalk but I'd be dead before I could do anything.
The building wasn't far away anymore. The next problem were all these enemies I had to pass to get inside.
Dad was definitely insane. I had no chance at all. How could one person fight off tons of Cybermen that were flooding out of this building? But the solution came a lot faster than I thought.
Suddenly a Cyberman found me and forced me to go with him. And thankfully he brought me into the building.
"I don't want to do an upgrade!" I said after minutes of silently following the robot. It didn't reply and forced me to stand in a queue . I knew exactly what would happen to me. What would happen to all these Torchwood workers.
"Excuse me." I said to the scientist in front of me. "Do you know where the Doctor and Rose Tyler are? Just wondering."
I don't know whether his shocked expression was because I knew about the Doctor or because I was a child. Probably both.
"You're a child. What are you doing here?! And where did you get that name from?!" He almost screamed. The Cybermen who watched us turned around. They watched us until they decided to focus on someone else.
"Shut up you- Um... Listen to me. This is very important. I need to talk to him." I explained.
We walked a few steps forward. I had only a bit time left.
"He has no time for his stupid fan club. Anyways, why are you asking me!? We'll die!"
I sighed. "Not if you tell me where he is. Now!"
We could already hear the screams of the ones who were getting upgraded. But the man turned around and decided to ignore me. Angrily, I grabbed his shoulder.
"Okay you little-" No insults. Dad hates it. I cleared my throat. "We can trick them together. We can get out of here together. But only if you tell me where my father is... I mean the Doctor and M- Rose Tyler!"
I was way too angry to realize the man turned around to pray and not to ignore me. And that he was crying.
"No. They would kill us in the blink of an eye! And I don't know where the Doctor is. People are saying he is in the very top of the building. But I don't even believe that this guy is here at all. I mean look at this! If he's there to save everyone like he always does then why are we all dying?!" Sobbed the guy in anger.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Gunther. And I have a wife and two children... And... Oh god she's pregnant."
He began to sob hysterically. I tried to calm him down because I needed a companion for this. Yeah, now I understand why Dad doesn't like to travel on his one.
"Okay, Gunther. Listen to me. If we try to get out of here you can save your wife and children. You can't give up now."
He nodded. "But I can't do this. God damn it, I can't even order a coffee. I can't even talk to people. I'm not supposed to be here! Before this mess started I wanted to go to the Star Trek convention! Look, I'm even wearing my costume under this uniform!"
I was glad to find another person that shared this obsession with me, even though I might die in the next minutes.
"Then be like Kirk!" I replied with a hopeful smile.
"I'm team Picard!" He looked insulted.
I sighed. Nerds don't even forget the nerdiness in their last minutes. The argue whether Kirk or Picard was the better captain was almost a philosophical question.
"Okay, Captain. Then get your shit together and fight these bastards."
Dad would be disappointed. He hated my bad tongue. But I didn't care anymore. His hands were shivering and the sweat was running down his forehead in litres. But he nodded. I was so proud.
"Okay, Number One... any plans?" He stuttered.
Actually, I had more focused on having a companion for a plan than on the actual plan.
"We can... We can... Run?" I stuttered.
"Great idea, Number One. I'm fat. I can't run!"
Oh, another person that hated sports class in school. I sighed. Dad's creativity would be very helpful.
"What would Spock do?" mumbled Gunther. Good question. Very good question.
"Do you have a plan, by any chance?" I asked.
He shook his head and watched everything around us. "Maybe we could try to get this metal structure falling because it's right above these Borgs... I mean... Cybermen things. But how? It's dumb, I know. Sorry, I am the worst Captain ever. And we are going to die." He stuttered quietly.
At first I agreed but then I realized I still had the sonic screwdriver.
"Günther,-"
"It's Gunther!"
"Gunther, you are a genius. I think you just saved our lives. Okay, this is going to hurt these metal bastards. When I say run, run!"
he nodded. His expression revealed the panic he was having. When I was about to activate my screwdriver he stopped me.
"Wait! I can't do this! I'm sorry."
Gunther breathed heavily.
"You can. C'mon, Gunther! You always dreamed of these space adventures!"
He started to cry but agreed. "Do it. Before I decide to stay here."
I know I only had one chance because once the Cybermen saw the screwdriver the game was over.
"Is that a sonic screwdriver?! Oh, my god!"
"Shut up!"
I pointed at the metal structure until it completely broke down and buried the group of Cybermen.
"Run!"
We were not the only people that used this chance to run for their lives. Everything was fine until we reached the elevators. Because Gunther wanted to leave the building. So we stood there in the middle of a huge chaos and argued.
"I need to find my family! I'm sorry!" Screamed Gunther. I knew he would die out there.
"No! Out there is the biggest chaos ever! You won't survive a second! Come with me, then you are save! Together we can make it!" I replied.
"No! I need to find them! Even though I am scared... And I always forget where I parked my car." He started to cry again. "They're probably dead."
"I said, let's do this together. You help me save Rose Tyler and I help you save your family."
we heard Cybermen approaching which made Gunther panic.
"Okay. Promise me I'll find my family?"
I nodded. Bad idea. Never make these kind of promises. They won't work. We ran to the elevator and furiously clicked the small button. It blinked but still there was no elevator. It was getting dangerous.
"Delete! Delete!" said the Cybermen again and again while killing every moving thing in this big floor. It wouldn't take long until they found us.
"Gunther, I'm sorry but we need to take the stairs if this thing doesn't work!"
Gunther sighed. "All of the floors?! Oh, you're kidding. I am already on diet to fit into my klingon costume!"
But thankfully the elevator did arrive. And we furiously clicked on a button again. What is it with elevators? Why are they always so slow when you need them? It was so quiet now. No screams. Only Gunther's massive breathing.
"Why are you so professional? It's like you're an alien or something!" Asked Gunther. Without me he would be a Cyberman or a dead man by now.
"Trust me, I have not the slightest clue what I am doing. My father is the professional on this. Oh, by the way... Prepare to meet the Doctor."
Gunther looked like a Trekkie who was about to meet Leonard Nimoy.
"The Doctor? The real one?"
I nodded. He laughed like a crazy person. But the laughing turned into pure fear very fast when we realized the elevator stopped at the wrong floor. Please let it be normal people like us. But even before the door opened we could hear the Cybermen discussing the weakness of emotions and the quality of the upgrade. Gunther paniced.
"Okay, you're the professional... I'm just sitting here and waiting for your great plan!"
"Great. While you're waiting, would you please press the 'close doors' button?"
I thought about every elevator movie I ever watched. Most of them had an exit on the roof. I didn't know whether that was just a thing in movies. But with this elevator it seemed to work.
"Can you climb?" I asked.
Gunther shook his head in terror. "No! I can't play football! I can't climb! I can't run! I can't swim! Stop sounding like my stupid P.E. teacher! The only thing I'm good at is finding excuses why I can't be part of P.E. class, okay?!" he shouted.
I sighed. "Okay, calm down! You gotta find an excuse that gets you up there because that's the only way out!"
"I was the great loser! No one wanted me in their team! No one gave me the basketball for once because I'd lose it for sure! I don't even need an enemy to lose the ball! I just fall and break my bones! It's not a good thing to let me do sports! Because I almost die every time and accidently kill someone as well! The only thing I was good at was stalking the teachers! They were always hot but I was the fat kid so they thought I was a failure! Okay, I am a failure! So stop asking me for all those things!"
"Gunther! Calm down! It's fine!" I tried.
"No, nothing is fine! All my life people make fun of me because of this! Force me to run kilometre after kilometre only to see me fail! Only the cool kids were good at sports! And they had girlfriends and boyfriends! Guess when I had my first kiss? On a Star Trek convention and I married that women!"
"Gunther!"
"Oh shut up!"
"We will die if you want to describe your childhood for another ten minutes! We need to go now!" I explained.
"Yeah, you're right sorry. All of this is just too much for me!"
He wanted to start this again. But I didn't let him.
"Okay, I'm climbing up there now and then I help you to get up, too! But you need to be fast!"
"I will die! I will die!" He cried.
I sighed. "Just do it like I said!"
"Okay!"
After I climbed up we prepared to get Gunther up as well. I had no idea how long the door would last closed so we needed to fast up.
"C'mon!" I screamed.
He grabbed my arm while desperately trying to climb up. He completely paniced.
"Oh, my god! I can't do it! I can't! I will die!"
The doors opened. We only had a few seconds left. I had a very bad feeling about this.
"Oh, my god! I'm going to die! I'm going to die and I don't even know your name!"
I freaked out. He was right, I had never told him.
"Mary Tyler! And move your ass, now! I'm not gonna let you get caught by Cybermen!"
He shook his head.
"Mary, I'm sorry! They got me! I can feel them pulling me down! Oh, my god!"
I tried to help him. But it was too late. He screamed in terror when he fell. I cried. The Cybermen were grabbing him.
"Run! Run, Mary! Run for your life and save the ones you-"
"You will be upgraded! Resistance is futile!"
I was in shock and couldn't help but lying on the roof of the elevator crying. It was my fault. My plan. My terrible idea. Gunther was so nice. So cute. He didn't deserve any of this. I wonder how Dad must be feeling after 900 years of losing people. It felt terrible. For my own luck the Cybermen didn't climb up the roof and considered me dead. I lied there for a long time. Until I had no tears left. Until I remembered why I was here. I hit the metal structure around me until my hands were completely bruised. This was so wrong.

He wore 3D- glasses, proudly presenting what "void stuff" was. But I decided to interfere after Dad and Mom were on their own. Until then I hid in the background and kept myself invisible with the perception filter of the Tardis key.
I was actually about to interfere when Dad decided to send Mom to the parallel dimension. But a feeling in my stomach told me that Mom wouldn't leave him, ever. And she came back, not telling him that she's in love which was in my opinion very wrong. I mean, c'mon... They were both in great danger. They both had feelings for each other. They were both great cowards. But who am I to judge their relationship? After their cheesy "I'm gonna stay with you forever"- talk was finished and they slowly came back to their actual plan my big moment was there.
"Hello! Mom, Dad, how's it going? Good? Saving the world again?"
They both watched me very confused. I didn't know why until I realized I called them Mom and Dad. Spoilers, oops!
"I mean... The famous Doctor and his beautiful companion Rose Tyler! Hi!"
I waved. Mom waved back, with her expression already saying she didn't like me. Oh good job. You can't stand your own daughter!
"And who are you?" Asked Dad watching me very carefully.
"My name is Mary Tyler... Which has surely nothing to do with your surname, don't worry."
Mom nodded thinking I was the greatest idiot of all time.
"You're going to need my help! Opening the void and stuff, you know..."
Dad shook his head. "No, I think we are perfectly fine."
I knew exactly that I had to argue with my Dad again. But this whole adventure  had already ruined my nerves so much that I couldn't help but freaking out. I threw my screwdriver to the ground. It broke.
"Listen to me, you little idiot!" I sort of enjoyed talking to my Dad like this. "I went through a lot of bullshit to get here! I lost friends..." Don't cry. " I fought off Daleks, Cybermen and the worst of all, you, to stand here right now! And you're going to listen to me now because otherwise I will kill you with my bare hands, understand!?"
Dad nodded. He was actually scared of me.
"Wow. Now I know how to win an argument." Mumbled Mom.
Oh no, please don't tell me she got the insults from me. That's a paradox!
"Who are you?" Asked Dad again.
I grabbed his shoulders and pulled him down to me so Mom couldn't hear what I wanted to say.
"You'll lose her. Forever. You want that? I can stop it but only if you trust me!" I whispered in his ear.
He was still very careful. "Why should I trust you?"
Because I am your freaking daughter!? Oh, never mind.
I continued in gallifreyan. But it wasn't a plan I was explaining. Not a story I was telling. It was his name. I named him. A sign of complete trust. Dad was shocked.
"See? I want to save the love of your life."
Dad wanted to know everything. "Who sent you?"
"Actually, you. But that's another story."
Mom walked over to us.
"Doctor, do you want to introduce us or...?" Asked Mom.
Dad ruffled his hair and sighed in confusion.
"That's the point, Rose. I have never seen this girl in all my life!" replied Dad.
"you're sure? I mean... 900 years are a long time. Not your ex? Or maybe your girlfriend or wife or something? No?" Mom seemed to be a bit annoyed by my existence.
"No. But you can trust her! She's going to help us!"
I smiled. Finally.
"How can you trust her when you've never seen her?" Sighed Mom.
Dad walked over to the wall and placed a magnetic stamp.
"She knows my name. Do what you have to do, Mary."
We placed the other stamp on the wall as well. Mom was getting a bit nervous.
"The Daleks are coming. Doctor, we don't have much time left!" Said Mom.
Everything was ready.
"What's going to happen?"Asked Dad quietly.
I shook my head. "I don't know. But I promise to you, I will save her!"
Dad nodded. Mom and Dad decided to open the void now. There were two levers and both of them needed to be pulled down at the same time. I stepped over to Mom's side and tried to help her as good as possible.
"You're not his wife or girlfriend or... I don't know... Ex?" Asked Mom.
"No. Daughter. But don't tell him. It's his future."
Mom nodded. Now she got a lot more friendlier.
"Okay, Rose. I'm going to watch out for you. I never travelled to a parallel universe so the void won't suck me in." I explained.
"Why not helping him?" she asked.
Because it's all about you?
"Because he's fine."
Then we opened the void. It was like hell.
