Chapter 22: don't be like that.

Everyone went back to anteiku. Hinami was put to bed "I see you guy's tomorrow, good night" I said they said 'goodnight' back. I walked out the door. Kaneki followed behind me. Little later I stopped "you know Kaneki if you want to know something, just.." I turned around "ask..".

The look on his face something is bothering him. I sighed and walked over to him and placed both my hands on his cheeks and made him look at me "what's wrong? did I do something?" I said but he's looking away from me.

"He, look at me" I said softly.

He bit his lip "I-I almost killed you back there" he said while looking at me tears flow down his face.

I let go of him and flicked his forehead he placed his hand on his forehead "silly,... I'm too stubborn and don't listen to anyone, so don't go blaming yourself" I said with a smile on my face.

I took his hand and made him walk next to me "you know what Kaneki I'll be staying at you place tonight" he quickly turns his head to me.

"Eh? Why.." He asked.

"Well I'm angry at Lawrence for ignoring my phone calls" I said looking at him "so you won't mind if I stay, right?" I said looking at him with puppy eyes.

"N-No I don't mind" I could see he does.

"Kaneki, you won't hurt me, so don't worry" I mumbled but I'm sure he heard me.

Before we realised we reached Kaneki's apartment Kaneki opened the door and let me go in first. I removed my shoes Kaneki still looks out of it as he walks by me.

"Kaneki are you going to shower first?" I asked.

"No, you can go first" he yelled from his room.

I went to the bathroom and closed the door behind me and removed my clothes. After shower I found clothes in front of the door and put them on. I walked out of the bathroom and walked to the couch where Kaneki is watching tv.

"The bathroom is free now" I said walking to Kaneki and sat down on the couch next to him.

"Kaneki?" No reaction I blew into his ear and made him jump "what are you doing?" He asked while holding his ear "I said you can go take a shower" he nodded en went to his room to get his stuff.

I sat down on the couch "well that was weird" I waited for Kaneki to finish. As I waited my eyes slowly begin to close I yawned a few times and fell asleep.

Then I felt arms around me as I open my eye's I see Kaneki face close to mine and his towel on his head covering his hair that's not completely dry.

I itch my eye "Ka-ne-ki?" I said half awake.

"Sorry, did I woke you up?" He asked.

"What do.. you think..." I said and placed my head on his shoulder and giggled "I don't mind though" I said and closed my eye's.

The next morning I woke up in my room confused how I got here "wait, what? I'm sure I was yesterday with Kaneki, so how did I get here?" I got ready and went down stairs to the kitchen.

"Lawrence!? Did you bring me home?" I said to the butler standing in front of the sink ready to wash some dishes. He nodded on my question "and why? if you don't mind me asking" but he kept quiet.

"...I cannot lie to you my lady, and I won't Kaneki called me saying you were staying at his place and asked me to pick you up, I did ask him why but the reason he did not give" Lawrence said I thanked him for telling me and eat breakfast.

"Lawrence, you haven't been home lately,... It's not like I'm telling you to stay home, I just.... Forget it it's nothing" I stood up and placed my plate in the sink.

"I'm visiting my brother his grave" My mouth dropped open "why didn't you tell me?" I said but it sounded more like shouting.

"Lawrence....., alright! Lawrence you fired for a month after that you can come back whenever you want, and don't worry about the house because I'll take care of it" I Said proudly.

"No I cannot accept that my lady" he said going on one knee and looking down to the ground.

"Oh? Really then I'll go" I said slowly walking to the door. Lawrence grabbed my arm "no I'll go" he said. He grabbed his stuff and left "well that was easy" I looked around "the house look clean though" I grabbed my phone and called Kaneki "...voicemail... Maybe he's still sleeping" I cleaned the plate and left to Kaneki's place.

When I got there I knocked on the door "Kaneki it's me Amaya.." No response.

I went to Anteiku and there I found him "Kaneki, here you are" he didn't looked pleased seeing me more like scared and...troubled.

"Kaneki can we talk?" I asked him.

"Hi Amaya, no I can't at the moment I'm quite busy" he said "yes I'm coming!" He shouted and left my presence.

"Kane..!" Before I could say his name he left behind the door.

"Is he avoiding me?"

I went home after what happened and cleaned the house a little and waited for the clock to 5 o'clock after that I went to Kaneki's apartment and waited there for him to show up.
