Chapter 27

I step outside the room seeing Kaneki sitting on the couch. He look at me giving a fake smile. I walk past by him while still looking at him and sit on the couch next to him. Nobody said anything so I decided to start the conversation.

"So, um how are you doing?" I said smiling awkwardly.

He looks down with his hands clenched together "what we're you doing?, I told you to go home!" He said in a angry tone yet he has a sad expression when he turns to look at me.

"Well it was late so I decided to stay the night, but not knowing my way around, I asked if there was a hotel of some sort I could stay, but it ended up in a fight" I awkwardly laugh it of while scratching my cheek. Kaneki is biting his lip and clenches his hands even tighter.

"How can you smile, you could've died" he said looking straight at me. His eye's are filled with guilt "it's not your fault it's mine" I mumbled.

"When I heard you scream I left to find you, and when I did you were on the edge of death but there was someone with a cloak on not far from you, I couldn't see his face, he immediately left when I arrived" Kaneki said and looks at me.

I think back "brother?" I said softly and put my index finger under my chin. Kaneki looks at me "anyway, I am alive and kicking aren't I? I should go now before I cause you more trouble" I said giving him a smile as I stood up.

I turn around about to leave when I feel Kaneki grab my arm and pulling me into a hug "how can you be so carefree, you almost died and here you are smiling like nothing happened, to be honest I was happy when I saw you... But then again having you around means someone will eventually come after you, and..." I put my arms around him.

"I can look after myself, even though it doesn't look like it... Ever, but I can..." I heard Him let out a small laugh.

"Finally you smiled" I said loosening my arm and look at him smiling. He comes closer to my face and kisses my forehead.

"Thank you" he said in a low voice we remained like that for a couple of moments before letting go. It's alright 11pm "Amaya you can sleep in my bed, I'm going out for a bit" He says while putting his shoes on.

"Alright then, be careful" I know where he's going but I don't want know what he's doing. Kaneki left I'm alone in his apartment I sit on the couch "what to do?" Shower came to mind but I don't have spare clothes.

So I ended up watching tv instead and fell asleep on the couch. The next morning I wake up looking at the wall I turn around seeing Kaneki bedside me sleeping.

"Good morning, Kaneki" I said he let out a moan and buries his face into the pillow. I place my hand on his shoulder gently moving him "Kaneki... " no response. Well he won't be waking up soon. I put my leg over him and try touching the ground with my toes.

"Got it" I said softly I got over Kaneki and went to take a quick shower before going outside. I'm not planning to stay long. I'm just going to look after him for a while. I walk into a clothing store and bought some clothes, shoes underwear.

Later on my way back to the apartment I did some grocery shopping. After all that I head back But when I got there. I forgot to bring the keys with me. So I knock on the door It didn't take any second before Kaneki opened the door.

"Amaya don't suddenly leave like that" he said relieved and slightly worried as I walk in.

"you're right, I'm sorry but You were sleeping so I went out without saying a word, I just needed some clothes" but it's not like he would come with me.

Later that day Kaneki left again. I remained home and cook something for my self. I place the plate on the table and slowly eat it. Thoughts like if Kaneki is alright, what if he doesn't come back.

I shake my head ferociously I must not think about such. I quickly finish my plate and washed it. I take a bath my eyelids are getting heavy and I fall asleep in the tub. I had a bad dream about what happened to me me previously with those three people.

My eye's shot open but the ceiling and everything around me doesn't look familiar. I sit up looking around "where am I?" I need to calm down I take a deep breath and keep it in for second before letting it out. I did it a couple of times before I completely calm down. A old aircraft hangar is the first thing that came up.

I stand up only realising I have no clothes on but only a towel around me. "How did I get here?" I thought to myself.

I hear someone clear his throat "Seems you've woken up?" He said I look up seeing a men stand there looking down on me. I glare at him "I haven't introduced myself, Cain the brother of Lucia the girl you've badly injured not too long ago" he said as he's walking down.

I stood still ready to face him but he looked at me and all I could see is bloodlust. My eye's widen I knew I had to get away from here. Every step he made to get closer I did one to back away.

"You might ask yourself how I found you, well let's say I let someone spy on my troublesome sister, after what happened he followed you and told me about you, I waited before making a move, when I got into the apartment you were soundly sleeping in the tub, I could've finished you right there but decided to play with you a little thus bringing you here" he said and stood still spreading his arms.

I hit the wall making me look behind me look and Look back at him "stay away" he is scaring me my knees feel weak. I bring out my kagune only making him lick his lips "well he was right about how beautiful you look, blue dragon" he didn't show any signs of fear or hesitation.

No, he is coming straight at me only to torture me. I want to attack him but what he'll do terrifies me he hasn't even brought out his kagune. My body begins to tremble in fear "what are you?" I said in a low voice.

His hand got the hold of my neck in mere seconds. He's is undoubtably fast I grab his arm. He's closing in to my face with his other hand he take a knife out his pocket. Not just any knife it's a Quinque. My eye's widen and fill up with tears I look back at Cain he's enjoying this. That wide grin on his face he will do much more.
