●Fred's POV●
Bang.
The walls around us rattled. More specifically, the wall that acted as our door.
Bang.
I immediately went to y/n's side, getting her behind me. We were too close to the door, but if the wall fell inward, I'll be damned if I let it hit her first.
"Fred?" she asked, voice small, previous confidence gone.
"It's alright," I tried reassuring, my wand at the ready as Harry went to investigate with a little boy named Nigel.
The lights flickered, then went out as the mirror in front of the doorway shattered. My grip on y/n's wrist tightened by a fraction more. Nigel, the curious kid he is, peaked through the smallest of holes within the wall that made up the disguised door.
From the other side, we could all hear mumbles, but it wasn't until Harry tugged the boy away and the wall blew to pieces that we all panicked.
There stood Umbridge in her prissy pink uniform and her little group of minions behind her. Next to come into view was Malfoy holding a crying Marrietta Edgecombe. One of Cho Chang's friends.
"Now, I'm going to make this easy, who organized this?" Umbridge's voice came out just as obnoxiously as ever. Her smile made me angry. The way her eyes lingered on a select few students, including y/n, made me angrier.
No one stepped forward. No one took the blame. In fact, Ron and Hermione stepped in front of Harry, almost to shield him. I had to give them some credit. When it came to one another, they were all self-sacrificial. Not the best trait, I think, but I was being hypocritical seeing as how I had y/n behind me.
She peeked around me, hands gripping the bit of my shirt she could hold.
"Well?" Umbridge said. "Anyone? I promise, I'm not mad, just disappointed seeing as how none of you bothered or know how to read the rules we put up. I will ask you all again, who is responsible for this... illegal organization?"
No one dared to speak up. No one...
"It was me." I stepped forward.
"What?" y/n looked at me, her eyebrows pointing up in the center. "Freddie, what are you doing?"
"Trust me." I kissed her forehead before forcing her hand off me. I stepped forward and stared Umbridge down. "I did it."
"Mister Weasley... You do know this deed will not go unpunished, no?"
"I know," I said.
"Good... Very good... My office. Now. And bring your friends..." She gave her bitter smile, then turned on her heel to leave.
Y/n followed me even after I tried forcing her to stay. Who was I to say no to her when she looked like that? y/e/c eyes staring up at me just begging for my heart to give in. Does she not know how long I've already been collapsed on my knees for her? One day she'll know. If she doesn't already. I'd give myself up for her. I'd give her the world.
Our footsteps echoed with shame down the halls, a small group of us trailing behind our awful pink, ego-filled, narcissistic toad of a teacher.
Currently, the only thing keeping me from bashing her curly head of hair in was y/n's hand in mine.
Just focus on that, Fred. Just focus on her. On y/n. You're fine, man.
Five minutes later, everyone that had followed managed to cramp ourselves into her office full of kittens on pink plates. Ron, Hermione, Harry, George, Neville, Lavender, Malfoy, and some others whose names I wasn't going to bother trying to remember right now. Then, of course, there was y/n. My anchor. My lighthouse.
Merlin, I would do anything for her.
"Since I know it wasn't mister Weasley who started this, I'm going to call on all of you one at a time. Those who do not comply... Well, there will be consequences and they will be severe." She pulled out one of her cushy chairs. "Mister Potter. You first, dear."
Everything that happened after that was a blur, but at some point, y/n was put in the chair, then hit. Something in me had snapped and it took Malfoy, George, and Ron to hold me back. I don't remember the rest of what happened.

A/N - Chat... This is a tiny chapter, but I don't know what I'm doing. School is hard, luckily, I have no diplomas this semester because teachers are weird. I've also been smacked with a royal cold, so the meds I'm taking make my brain super foggy. But Christmas break is just after next week, so yay! I should be writing more during then. Woo!
I'm gonna go pass out in bed with my weighted blanket now. Longer chapters to come!
Until next time, Darlings! Xxx
