Lauren couldn't stop laughing at me, tears rolled down her round face. She held the sides of her stomach as her loud barking changed to gasps of breath. She looked at me with her now red eyes and a large grin. I closed my tired eyes and hid further into the hoodie of my jacket.
"Lauren, it's not funny," I mumbled, as I pick up my ham and salami sandwich. We were sitting outside today and eating lunch on a stone bench. Unlike yesterday which was unusually hot now that I think about it, today was nice and sunny with a warm breeze. I was wedged between Emma and Bridget with Lauren and Jaime across from us.
"I'm sorry, but did you seriously start attacking her with stuffed animals?" Lauren said as she wiped her tears away with the large shirt she was wearing. It looked like one of her brother's, "I mean come on, that's like something you would see on SpongeBob or SNL!"
"Yeah, well I wasn't laughing, Lauren," I snapped as I slammed my down my sandwich, it splattered all over my tank top and hands. A slice of tomato land near Emma's black dress and a piece of lettuce fell in Bridget's long tousled braid. I instantly regretted the action, that wasn't like me, that was what Lauren would do, "I...I didn't mean to do that, guys, sorry," I sighed.
"Don't apologize," Jaime shrugged and she crunched on a Veggie Straw, "It's not like got me anyway,"
"How much sleep do you get last night, BJ" Bridget said as she pulled out the limp piece of lettuce out of her hair, her grey eyes forced me to tell her the truth.
"Well, after Raven's little break-in, only an hour," I confessed, a breeze blew past me making me shudder, "I was scared she would come back,"
"Oh, you poor thing," Emma whimpered as she rubbed my back.
"You do look like a crap," Jaime said as she inspected one of her long dark curls
"Jaime, stop," Bridget looked at me, I couldn't look back at her. Trying to look at her strong blank face takes strength that I have. Usually her stare makes me feel calm like she's a protective mama bear, but now I didn't feel protected. I felt paranoid.
"How's that bump of yours, by the way," Lauren as she popped three white grapes in her mouth, "I can barely see it now,"
"That's because, she's wearing her hood up, you idiot," Jaime muttered as she went on her phone.
I touched the bump, I completely forgot about it. It was smaller than yesterday and it wasn't as sensitive anymore, "It's fine I guess," I sighed.
"How did she look like though," Emma whispered excitingly, her large brown eyes looked like the size of tennis balls.
I shuddered remembering her blue eyes training on me, "She has green hair," I managed as I stared at my smashed sandwich, "She was pretty tall, too,"
Jaime looked up from her phone, she raised her eyebrows, "Green? As in...green?" she stuttered
Lauren snorted, "No Jamie, she means the other green that's red,"
"That's...interesting," Bridget grimaced
"No it's not! It's weird! It's insane," I shouted, "My future step-sister is an insane chick with green hair!"
"Wait your dad proposed to Miss Boom? When?" Emma squeaked
"Well...he's probably going to soon," I shrugged, "But Raven will still living with me for two weeks," I chewed on my bottom lip.
Jaime set down her phone, "Okay Baldwin you need to calm down," she sighed and rubbed her eyes, "Didn't Laurel say Raven is usually out of the house? You might not even see her a lot,"
