Maybe I made a mistake making a deal with the idiotic quarterback named Park. He's known for being a deceitful person. Even though he's a football player, who are stereotyped to be stupid. He's got a brain up there, known to be very clever. But that doesn't mean I'm completely doomed. Though I've never had an actual, true conversation with the guy. I'm also known, at least among my friends, to be very smart. Playing mind games is one of my specialties. He may have some stupid plan that he thinks is quite clever, but I'll be able to get out of it.

At lunch, I sat with everyone except Alice, she didn't have our lunch period. I was snapped out of my daze by Rosie. "We're losing you here Ope!" I shook my head. "Yeah yeah what?" A look of misery crossed her face. "Bea's got a new crush this week." Bea punched her in the arm. "It's for REAL this time!" I smiled at her. "Who is it this time?" She scowled at me, then continued. "His name is Blake, and he's super cute." Oh boy. "Blake from AP Human Geography?" I ask. That's the one class I had with Bea, which meant I would have to suffer from her obsession this time. Rowan looked relieved, since last time he was in their Biology class. "Yes, that one." Oh great. Just peachy.

"What color are his eyes?" We were now in AP Human Geography, mapping out this entire paper full of physical features. Mountains, rivers, plateaus, all that jazz. We had till Friday, and she was going on about his eyes. "I don't know. By the looks of it maybe blue." I say, coloring the Ural Mountains. He had dirty blond hair and you could tell his eyes were light, but not any one color. "Look at him." I sighed. "Why don't you look at him?" "Because I don't want to be too obvious and you're more subtle. Just, please." I closed my eyes and sighed again. "Fine." I waited till he looked over towards our side. When he did and snuck a glance. "Blue gray. They're blue gray." She smiled. "You're the best." "Yeah yeah."

Blake approached me after class. Our class together was the last class, so he walked with me towards the bus. "Hey, um, was there a reason you were glancing a lot at me today?" I was blunt about things, and even though I could lie my way out of it, I decided not too. I closed my book. "Yeah, my friend sorta likes you, and was asking me all sorts of questions about you." His eyes widened and he looked at the floor. I thought he was done and opened up my book again, but he asked me something else. "Our friend. The one with the curly brown hair and, like, big green eyes?" I quirked an eyebrow and looked at him. "Yeah, that one." I smirked as his ears turned pink. "Wanna know her name?" He looked at me with another surprised look. I took that as a yes. "You can call her Bea. And if you like her back I suggest you tell her. She gets a new crush every week." He looked like he made up his mind about something. "Thanks! That helps!" He hugged me awkwardly and ran.

On the bus I tried to tune everyone out. With headphones it was easier. There was usually this 8th grader who sat with me. Her name was Amelia, and she had a senior brother named Lawson. We got off at the same stop, and she usually just listened to music too, so we were a good match.

I opened the door and walked in. Elliot was doing something after school, which meant I would probably have to pick him up in moms car. It was finally Friday, thank the Lord. As I stepped inside, someone spoke to me. "Jeez, did you get even taller? Stop growing Opal." I turned to see Axel standing near the door. I spazzed out. "AXEL!!" I cried, jumping on him. My legs wrapped around his waist and my arms grabbed his neck. "OKAY! Calm down there!!" He said, but I could tell he was just as excited to see me by the way his arms squeezed me extremely tight to the point where it was hard to breathe, but I didn't mind. I nuzzled the side of my face into his shoulder. "You're home?" I asked. He readjusted his arms so that he held some of my weight. "Yeah, decided it's been too long. Gonna stay for a few weeks." He let me go and I stood, looking him over. He was probably doing the same. His eyes were always getting greener, they were a different green then Bea's. Bea had bright, meadow green eyes, Axel had dark, forest green eyes. He had his same scraggly beard, the same curly hair. I smiled and hugged him again, only this time with my feet on the ground. He was still taller then me, but not by much. "Let's go pick up Elliot. Mom told us too."

When Elliot saw Axel, he didn't quite have the same reaction as I did. He did smile a really big smile, and they did guy hug, which I guess is more emotion for Elliot then normal. He then proceeded to tell me he called shot gun, which I was not going to allow. "I'm older." I simply stated. "And I was sitting here this whole time. So, no." Elliot looked over at Axel. "Tell her to get out." Axel hopped into the drivers seat. "Sorry little bro. Opal's got some good points that I can't argue with." He scowled and jumped into the back seat.
