I don't remember when I dozed off. All I remember is watching a movie and then dark. I only know a few things.
1. There was a soft blanket on top of me.
2. It was pitch black.
3. I was in close proximity with someone, and from my previous knowledge I knew it was Park.
4. Park was fast asleep.
5. We were WAY more tangled up then I last remembered.

One of my arms were draped across his torso, hand balled up against his ribcage. His arm was still around me, his other arm reached across my stomach, palm against my hip. Why were we like this? I would never know. I heard a grandfather clock start to chime. I counted. It wasn't very hard considering it was 2 in the morning. 2 in the morning?! Oh great. My parents were probably worried sick. I had to leave.

I poked his temple. "Park." I whispered. "Park!" I whispered louder. Now a bunch of you fan girls probably are thinking, "Kiss him awake! Kiss him awake!" Well I wouldn't do that if my life depended on it. Instead I did the only logical thing.

Slapped him right across the face.

He jolted awake, sitting up abruptly. His head whipped back and forth, taking in his surroundings. Even in the dark, I could see his dirty blond hair sticking up in all directions. He looked at me, seeing we were still partially tangled. We both jumped back, and he hit his head on a lamp. I shushed him loudly. "Shhh!! I don't want to wake anyone!" I whispered. "Well I don't either! What time is it?" He asked. "Around 2." With my eyes adjusting to the dark I could see the surprise on his face. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes. "Wow. Okay. Well you need a ride home?" I shook my head. "No. I walked." More surprised face. "You walked?!" I nodded. "You're not that far away from home." He stood. "Come on then." I rubbed my face. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Um, duh. Your house. I'm walking you home." I stood. I could tell my dress was all crinkly and my hair was all over the place. "That's okay. I can walk home myself." He tried to control his hair. "Nah, you don't understand. If I don't my mom will kill me." I nodded, not arguing with that logic.

You know, at 2 in the morning, one doesn't usually envision themselves walking down the street, in a dress, next to someone you despise. But you know, that's what I was doing. The air was extremely cool and the night was very still. "So, this is awkward." He stated. "That's very true. Oh, well. Have you ever run down this street barefoot before?" He looked at me like I had two heads. "Um, no. Why, have you?" I snorted. "All the time. Here." I stopped and slipped my shoes off. "Hold these." Obediently, he took them with an eyebrow quirked.

I took off, arms pumping, legs taking long strides, hair and dress trailing behind me. I ran until Park was a small speck in the distance, then stopped and sat on the curb until he reached me.

He threw my shoes on the ground and sat down. "Wow. That was.... graceful." I shrugged. "Don't get used to it, I'm not graceful any time else." He laughed. I really liked his laugh. "You should try it." I say. "Running down the street barefoot? That's ridiculous." I shook my head. "No, you need to keep your shoes on. I've been going barefoot my whole life, my feet now have tough skin on the bottom so I can take it. But, you should still try running." He shook his head. "No. That's silly." I stood. "Suit yourself." I picked up my shoes but I didn't put them on. I'd be barefoot all the time of I could. Sadly that's frowned upon in most places.

I had walked for a while, again until Park was a speck in the distance. Instead of waiting this time I kept walking. I was only a few minutes from home, I guess he decided to turn back.

But no.

I heard the pounding of feet before I saw him. I turned and he rushed past me, actually making my hair blow. I watched him run, then realized he was trying to race.

Challenge accepted.

I took off, a smile blooming on my face. I was gaining on him. When I did catch up to him, I shoved him as I passed, laugh coming out of my mouth. "Oh you jerk!!" He called. I laughed some more. He tried to catch up to me but it was useless. I could see my driveway. I reached it seconds before he did.

When we stopped at the bottom of my driveway, both breathing heavy and loud. I was still smiling, and he started smiling too. "I guess you were right. That was kinda...... I can't put words to it." He said, sitting. "At 2:30 in the morning, I didn't really think I'd be running down a street." He noted. I sat next to him. "Yeah me neither. Now how do I explain this to my parents?" I asked. "You don't have to. Before I fell asleep and you were already asleep I decided I should probably text them. You're fine." My eyes widened. "Oh. Well, thanks I guess." He waved it off. "It's fine." We looked at each other. In the moonlight, I could see amber flecks in the brown of his eyes. I could see him looking deeply into my eyes too. I shook my head and squeezed my eyes shut. "Um, thanks for walking me home." I stood and offered my hand. He took it and I brought him to his feet. "Good luck with your life." I said in a goodbye.

I wasn't going to talk to him again. Why would I? But before he went he held his arms out for a hug. "What, are you going to steal my wallet with that hug?" He chuckled. "No, though that's a good idea." I quirked an eyebrow before he continued. "We've done a lot for each other. Come on, we deserve it." I sighed and begrudgingly went over to him.

Because of our size difference his hug engulfed me. I leaned my head over his heart, and I could hear the loud thumping from the running. We released each other. "Have a nice life." I say, and I mean it. "You too." He turns around and walks away.
