CHAPTER 39

TIN

"I just want to ask you again, if I failed to lift my dad's command, your biological dad will possibly die a very painful death, are you sure you want to do this?"

He furrowed his brow when he heard that "Where did the very confident Tin go? The Tin I know will surely be very confident and won't question himself even just a bit."

We were in my car on our way to Chen's building when we had this repeated conversation.

"Yeah, but the Tin you know never went against his dad before. Now I'm about to indirectly challenge his power. Am I really strong enough for that?"

"You are, believe me. You just copied a bunch of people's abilities out of nowhere today, didn't that make you feel pretty invincible?"

"It did, but at the same time it also makes me feel very strange about my own ability, I feel like I don't have enough grip on it."

"Then, this will be a perfect practice for you."

"And if I kill your dad in this 'practice'?"

"Let's try not to kill anyone today..."

We arrived at his building and as usual, everyone just let us go though without any fight. When we entered his office, Chen was playing chess with himself.

"I thought you two are still in mourning and won't go anywhere at least in the next few more days. What an honor that you two came here to visit me."

"We need to talk to you, urgently."

"Is it about your grandparents? I give you my sincere condolence for them, I guess I wasn't really wanted at the mourning house so I didn't go there to give my condolence directly, besides, your grandparents never liked me when they were alive, I'm not sure they will like me when they are dead."

"It's not about them."

He stopped his chess play and looked at us for the first time "So you are sure your dad didn't kill them?"

I shake my head "My grandpa killed himself, and my grandad followed him."

He chuckles, "That's more like them, really inseparable till the end." He rested his back on the sofa and looked at us with a furrow "Then why are you two here?"

I really hate long talk, I prefer a little talk and more action, so without any warning I move closer to him and grab his hand. He looked shocked when he saw me suddenly grab him like this. Before he can utter any words, I say my command "I release you from all of my dad's permanent command."

We all just froze for a few seconds, like waiting for something to happen, but nothing happened, no flashing light or blowing wind. Everything is just quiet.

"Is it working?" ask Vel.

"Not sure." I said honestly.

"What are you just doing?" Chen asked with a scared face.

"Can you say something that Khun Jack forbade you to say?"

"Are you seriously going to directly tell him to do that?"

"Yeah, what else will we know?"

"And what if it doesn't work?"

"Your dad took your grandpa's ability and made him go crazy by repeatedly modifying his memories!" Chen said that loudly.

We all froze again after he said that. Looking at Chen waiting for him to bleed out from all the holes on his head, but nothing happened. More seconds passed and Chen was still alive and well. No blood from anywhere.
