Chapter 6: False Alarm

"Danica and I talked last night."

"What did she say?" Napatigil pa 'to sa pagnguya.

"She said you like me."

Muntik na niyang matapon sa mukha ko yung coffee niya.

"Sabi ko na nga ba e." And he laughed.

Okay, so hindi yun totoo.

"Funny right? I mean, that would be really disgusting."

There was a moment of silence. Very awkward one.

"Okay. I'll just go take a bath then I'll take you home. Maliligo ka pa ba?"

"Wala akong damit. Sa bahay nalang ako maliligo."

"Okay. Wait for me then."

Anong problema nun? Parang timang e. Ang bipolar.

"Ready to head home?"

"Yeah."

Nilagay niya yung seatbelt ko. Duh, I can handle this.

"Can I ask you something?" Just to kill the awkward moment. At may naalala kasi ako.

"Sure."

"May kakilala ka bang singkit? Umattend siya sa party kagabi."

"Hmm? Sinong singkit? Ang dami kaya nila."

So I'm not imagining. He really was there.

"Yung medyo mahaba yung buhok tas nakablack siya kagabi. Uhm, mas matangkad siya ng konti sakin."

"About what age?"

"Kaage natin?"

"You must be talking about Yuki. Why?"

So, Yuki ang pangalan niya.

"Nothing. San siya nakatira?"

"Ano 'to? Stalker ka na ba bes?"

"Saan nga?" Medyo pasigaw kong sabi.

"How would I know?"

"Okay." Straight face. No talking.

"Fine. He's from a subdivision called Nova Homes. I heard it last night from his Mom."

Shocks! Siya nga! Subdivision namin yun! Tadhana na naglalapit samin! Gosh!

"Hoy. Okay ka lang?"

"Yes." Abot langit na ngiti ko.

"Oh, dear. You like him, don't you?"

"Yes!" Excited kong sabi.

"How'd you know him?"

"We live in the same subdivision."

"Oh, small world. Looks like I won't be needing any directions from you then."

"Bes! I love you! Buti nalang you have connections!" Emphasized that connections.

"I'll take you to their house first."
