Brandon's POV
I decided to just stay home today while Callie went to talk with the lady. Lyric doesn't usually keep with her schedule if I take her out and its not really fair to do that to her. I just put Lyric down for her morning nap and I think Callie should be done with her appointment soon but I don't know how long she might end up needing. I've been planning on surprising Callie with something special since she's been through so much lately and still puts the kids and me first all the time. So I decide to call Jesus to see if he can help me out.
~PHONECALL~
"Hello"
"Jesus. I need your help man"
"Sure. Whats up? Im your man"
"I need you to help me turn the downstairs lounge into this big kind of forte thing for me and Callie. I remember her telling me before we got married she always loved as kids her and jude would build fortes in whatever house they lived at and it would just be the two of them. I want to surprise her since we haven't really had just me and her time"
"Yeah dude, that sounds awesome. When you need me?"
"Well Im thinking we'll do it tomorrow while she's busy in at the studio and I'll see if Marianna can take the kids till the next day"
"Man you are gonna get some"
"Jesus really?"
"What I mean you can't tell me out of that whole plan you weren't planning on receiving a little something something"
"Not that its any of your concern but I was doing it cause Callie has been through a lot lately and it would have been nice to see her smile for a whole night"
"Alright I shall except that answer. What time you want me over and do I need to bring anything?"
"Umm come at around 10:30 and maybe some white sheets, they'll look the best and we only have a few sets. I need as many sheets as possible. Raid moms place too if you have too"
"On it bro. See ya tomorrow"
"See ya. Thanks man"
~END PHONECALL~
When I get off the phone I hear a car pull up in the driveway, I look out the window and see its Callie. Thats a bit weird right. I mean I know she said she wouldn't be long but I kind of imagined it would go longer than expected. When she walks inside I can't instantly tell that she's pissed off so Im questioning whether or not to ask questions.
"Hey baby" I say giving her a hug and kiss on the head, deciding to not question anything unless she I can tell she definitely wants to talk.
"Hi" She says shortly "Where's Lyric?"
"Nap time..." I tell her which is weird considering she never lets me forget any of Lyrics nap times.
"Oh yeah I remember sorry baby."
I scrunch my brows with confusion as she walks up the stairs and I follow her into our bedroom. "Hey Cal are you ok? I mean you just seem a little on edge now." I ask but have a bit of fear written on my face considering she looks like she's about to snap.
She sighs loudly before plonking down onto the bed "I'm fine babe. The councillor...she just...I don't really know about her...I felt kind of judged about how she sees me as a mum. I didn't think it was her job to judge that and I definitely don't need to feel more guilty about this situation then I already do" She explains to me and I can see she really is upset about this making me want to just cuddle her and make her feel better.
"Cal..." I walk beside her and sit next to her pulling her into my arms "You are the most amazing mum and no stranger should be making you feel any different. But I am glad that you told me this, it means you're learning to talk to me which is all I've ever wanted," I explain. "I wouldn't have 2 beautiful kids with you if I didn't think you would be a good mum...you take care of them better then any mum I've ever met and I can only hope they grow up to take care of their kids as good as you've taken care of them" I kiss the side of her head and wipe away the tear flowing down her left cheek with my thumb "We have the luckiest kids in the world" I tell her finally making her break a smile.
"I just wish that stupid accident never happened," She cries into my shoulder.
"Shhh, babe I know but the main thing is that he is safe and so are you," I tell her holding her face in between my hands looking into her eyes.
"I know and I wish that's the main thing I could think about but everytime I close my eyes I just see different an neither of us are ok. That's not alright Brandon!"
"Alright well how about I promise to always be here when you wake up and calm you down? You hold my hand tonight so you know I'm by your side, yeah?" I offer hoping that this idea actually works. I read somewhere about contact during sleep helping with nightmares but this could be a long shot so lets just hope that it works.
"I love you so much Brandon"
"Mmm. Not nearly as much as I love you" I tell her giving her a long but simple kiss.
