Callie's POV
Its been a week since Brandon and I had our argument and things so far are pretty normal but for some reason he really just does not say anything when it comes to meal times or when I ask him for an opinion on dinner. I feel like he is trying to avoid fighting or getting me upset. I keep thinking I should say something but then decide not to remembering it really isn't worth rocking the boat over something so little and unimportant.
"Hey babe you okay?" I hear from behind me as I'm staring out the kitchen window watching Sammy play outside while I wash the dishes.
"Hm?" I ask turning to see Brandon looking worried walking towards me.
"Are you okay? You've been distracted all morning." He tells me putting his hands on my shoulders beginning to give me a massage.
"Are you sure you're okay with the argument we had the other day about their food?" I blurt out not really having any other way of asking him.
"Babe I told you I was fine. I know you've been asking me a lot more since then...trust me I did catch on to that but in all honesty I trust what you are cooking or planning to give our kids so unless I disagree I'm not really going to have much more to add. Does that make sense?" He explains.
I smile leaning back into his embrace "Yeah babe...sorry I didn't mean to sound paranoid" I admit now feeling bad that I doubted him.
"I know baby and I didn't mean to make you worry. I know you already worry" He jokes tickling my sides making me jump from his arms with a squeal.
"Stop it!" I demand while still laughing, "Where's Lyric I thought you were playing with her?" I ask with a smirk.
"She my friend is in the lounge room completely tuned into a show I don't know the name of but is very colourful and has lots of shapes and music" He tells me in a know it all voice making me laugh and playfully shove his shoulder.
"Oh well aren't you just super dad. But um super dad is yet to collect the dog poo from the back yard and I have watched Sammy almost stand on it at least 5 times this morning" I tell him crossing my arms.
"Hey babe, I can't help the amount of shit that comes out of that animal. He is a tank I tell you" He jokes making me chuckle.
"That may be but you still need to do it" I say exiting the room into the lounge where I see Lyric giggling at the TV before she notices me enter and then she reaches for me. I smile picking her up and smothering her face in kisses making her bring her hands up for me to stop. "You're just too cute my little princess" I fuss poking her nose. "Lets go see Sammy" I walk out to the yard where Sammy is playing fetch with Rusty now and just sit on the step with Lyric on my lap.
"Hey mum watch this. Sammy knows how to flip in the air" Sammy excitedly tells me picking up the ball and moving his hand up making Rusty move to do a flip. I smile and clap actually pretty amazed that my six year old taught Rusty to do that.
"Good job buddy!! Maybe you can get into agility with Rusty" I suggest and his face absolutely beams with excitement.
"Really!?! Does that mean I don't have to do sport anymore?"
"How about we do both because soccer is good for you and you enjoy it. Agility can be a fun little activity for you and Rusty ok?"
"Alright...Maybe I can teach Lyric how to do all these tricks with Rusty when she's older" He happily tells me before continuing on about how he is going to be the best with Rusty and nobody is going to be able to do what he will.

"Samuel! Do not chew with your mouth open!" I scold as he is eating his sandwich. He looks down now chewing with his mouth closed and I see Brandon holding back a laugh so I give him a look, which automatically makes him serious.
"How come Lyric doesn't have to eat a sandwich?" Sammy asked after swallowing his mouthful of food.
"Because she 6 months old and isn't as big as you. You didn't eat sandwiches at her age either" I assure him but he just keeps eating his sandwich while glaring at Lyric like she did something good that he didn't get to do. He's actually been doing that a lot lately. I think we're finally starting to see the jealous side of Sammy. Definitely not something I want to last long, cause it looks to be rather mean and rude which is not how I want either of my children to display themselves.
"Can I go play now?" Sammy asks but I look at his plate and he hasn't even eaten half.
"Nah dude. You gotta eat more before you butt even lifts a little of that chair" I tell him and he frown taking a sip of his juice and then looks over at Brandon for backup but Brandon knows better so he just shakes his head and then points to his sandwich signally him to finish it or at least eat more. Sammy huffs and puffs a few times before finally realising he isn't going to win so he continues to eat.
"Now was that so hard?" Brandon asks as Sammy is putting his plate in the sink.
"I think its stupid that I get different rules to Lyric" He suddenly responds in an angry tone.
"Excuse me Samuel but we don't use the word stupid. Now you may not like the situation but the fact is. You are the bigger and older one, she is littler and can't do certain things that you most definitely can. Would you like to argue that further or would you like to leave it there while you still have TV privileges?" I ask very sternly so he understands that this attitude will not be tolerated no matter what stage he is going through.
"I don't want to watch the TV anyway. I'm going to my room away from all of you. Go play with you favourite kid!!" He shouts before running out of the room where not long after I hear the door slam from his room upstairs.
"Great..." I sigh leaning on the bench.
"He'll be fine babe. He's just in a mood. Give him the afternoon to cool off and he'll be fine by dinner" Brandon tells me sounding so sure that it will all be ok as he gives Lyric another spoon of custard.
"I hope you're right." I say truly hoping my sweet little man walks down those stairs later with a better tone.
