It's the time of the year where people from all ages get to dress up whatever- or whoever, they want. Some people don't typically enjoy this holiday, but some actually do. And one of them is Jungwon.
Ever since he was a kid, his family would go all out on Halloween. From decorating the house, to spooky movie marathons every Friday night, or as they call it "Fright-day", and most importantly, their costumes.
This year, Jungwon's family decided to visit their hometown to celebrate Halloween with their other family. They all planned to go to the plaza for the Halloween festival happening there.
When they arrived, Jungwon saw lots and lots of different types of costumes. Scary ones, cute ones, matching ones, you name it. He was under the scary category, all covered in blood with his messy hair, his disheveled clothes. He's impersonating someone who just got brutally murdered.
A lot of people stopped to take pictures with him because they thought he was part of the festival, a scare actor. His sister laughed at him while he frowned, "You're really famous tonight, huh? Could I get your autograph?" Jungwon laughed and pushed his sister aside. "Shut up. I'm having fun though, I guess my costume for this year's Halloween is the crowd's favorite." His sister rolled his eyes at him and took out her phone to take pictures.
As they were walking, he didn't notice a scare actor running towards him. He was wearing roller blades and was charging straight at him. Jungwon's eyes widened as he closed his eyes preparing for impact when he heard a screech and the wind hitting him on the face. He looked up and saw the said scare actor towering over him, looking at him dead in the eyes.
Jungwon finally got a clear look of the person in front of him, he was wearing a mask covering only half of his face, his hair messy and blood splattered all over his clothes. Holding a bloody axe on one hand, and a head with intestines coming out of it on the other.
He smirked and glared at the actor, "You scared the living fuck out of me man. You're good at your job, I'll give you that." The actor smirked and leaned closer towards Jungwon.
There was a beat of silence when Jungwon heard a low chuckle, "You're not bad yourself, human."
Human? Jungwon thought. Jungwon was about to say something when his sister called him from behind, "Jungwon! We gotta go!" He turned to look at his sister and gave her a thumbs up, he looked back at the actor and smirked at him once more. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Mister..." The scare actor held up the axe he was holding to Jungwon's chin, making him look up at him even more, he inched closer and Jungwon swore he could smell the perfume he was wearing.
"Call me Jay. Nice meeting you too, Jungwon." The actor smiled, slowly backing away from Jungwon, then finally running off to scare someone else probably.
. . .
"Happy Halloween! Please come again!"
It was the next day after the night in the plaza, Jungwon was helping out in their family's cafe, since they were short staffed and needed more hands. He was in charge of handing out the orders to the customer's table while his sister handled the register. Suddenly the bell rang and a man with a hoodie came in.
"Good afternoon, and happy Halloween! What would you like?"
"One americano, iced."
His sister hummed and typed on the screen in front of her, "Would that be all?"
The man in front thought for a moment then took out his wallet, "And also caramel macchiato, with two slices of strawberry cheesecake."
