AN: this story is reversing the typical prince saves princess in the tower story. In this world it's the opposite, princesses saving princes.

Todo sighed as he stared out his tower window. He had lost track of all the weeks he had sat waiting to be freed as princess after princess tried and failed to scale the tower walls. Suddenly he heard the galloping beat of horse hooves and looked out to see a cloud of dust approaching. Todo sighed. 'Great,' he thought. 'Yet another idiotic and annoying princess who thinks they can scale this wall without a rope.' He sighed and waited for the horse and rider to reach his tower. When they did, the knight dismounted their horse dramatically, and began to pull their helmet off slowly. Todo rolled his eyes at the obvious attempt to look attractive. Suddenly the stranger doubled over in pain, dropped the helmet to the ground and shouted, " OUCH!!"
"Oh my gosh, are you alright?" Todo asked, somewhat concerned, somewhat confused.
"Yes, I'm fine," the stranger said straightening up. " I just... poked myself in the eye..." They mumbled, embarrassed.
Todo choked back a snort of laughter, and said, "Well I hope you weren't hurt too badly princess, but seeing as you're not crippled or bleeding profusely, I suggest you leave now. This tower is impossible to climb. Many, many princesses have tried and failed."
The stranger gave a self-assured smile and said, "Yes, but I am not like the others. I will succeed."
"What makes you so sure?" asked Todo.
"Well," said the stranger, straightening up so Todo could see their face properly, "I am no princess. My name is Edgar of Arillena, and I have a grappling hook." Edgar sent a bewitching smile at Todo. Todo looked down at the seemingly crazy prince, with his rainbow dyed hair, and his sparkling blue eyes, and smiled back.
