Edgar strolled down the snowy street, his new matching pastel blue coat and scarf fluttering in the breeze. "Hey, slow down! Where are you even going?" A voice shouted after him. Edgar spun around to see his boyfriend Todo standing several yards back on the sidewalk, struggling to push his way through a particularly deep snowdrift. Edgar chuckled, and waded his way back through the snow to where Todo was standing, knee deep and shivering.
Once Edgar reached him, Todo crossed his arms and glared. "Thanks for abandoning me to my fate. I really appreciate the help." He said sarcastically.
Edgar crossed his arms too, and stared back at him for several seconds, before bursting into laughter and stepping across the snow bank to his boyfriend's side.
"It's not my fault you're so short," he said, ruffling Todo's hair.
"Whatever, just help me out!" Todo pleaded. Edgar bent over slightly and picked up his protesting boyfriend bridal style, then carefully picked his way out of the deep snow. However, once he had made his way to the sidewalk, Edgar didn't set Todo down. Instead, he continued walking, cradling Todo despite his continued attempts to get down.
"Put me down!" Todo insisted. "Edgar seriously! Please, people are starting to stare."
Edgar sighed, but did as his boyfriend asked. Once back on his feet, Todo crossed his arms and began to walk as fast as he could. Edgar followed, his long legs easily matching stride to Todo's. A few minutes later, Edgar glanced at Todo to realize that he was not wearing a coat of any sort, only a thin sweatshirt, and had begun to shiver quite badly.
"Take my coat," Edgar said.
"What?" Todo asked. He turned to see Edgar holding his new coat out towards him. "Oh, no thanks, I'm fine," Todo said. Edgar raised an eyebrow, and tapped his foot impatiently.
"Really Edgar, I'm fine," Todo insisted.
"Don't be ridiculous Todo, your nose is bright red and your teeth are chattering," Edgar pointed out.
"But I-"
"Todo, I refuse to move an inch until you put on this coat. I shall simply stand here in the cold until my hair freezes and I have frostbite on my spleen."
"Edgar, I don't think that's possible."
"Shhh yes it is. Anyway, are you taking this coat or not?" Edgar asked.
"Fine,"Todo sighed. "If only to keep you quiet."
Edgar smiled victoriously, and handed his boyfriend the coat. Todo stuffed his arms into the coat with an aloof air, but was secretly glad at the warmth. They continued on in silence, until Todo noticed Edgar glaring at him again.
"What is it now?" Todo asked, "I put the coat on like you asked, so what's wrong?"
Edgar sighed dramatically and gestured to Todo's hands. "No gloves!" He announced. "I'm shocked that your poor fingers haven't frozen and fallen off!!"
"Edgar," Todo said, sounding rather exasperated, "you're not wearing gloves either."
Edgar gasped in obviously false surprise. "Oh my, no I'm not! This is awful! Whatever shall we do to stay warm?" Todo narrowed his eyes at his boyfriend. He had a feeling where Edgar was going with this...
"I suppose," Edgar continued, "the only possible way for us to stay warm is to hold hands."  Edgar then held his hand out to Todo with a self satisfied smirk.
"You know," Todo muttered, "there are such things as pockets." But he laced his fingers with Edgar's anyway. "There, are you happy now?" Todo asked, trying to sound stern. Edgar nodded, but then paused thoughtfully. "Hmmmm..."
Todo sighed. "What is it?"
"Your lips Todo," Edgar cried in mock alarm. "They're blue! They look so cold."
"Well," Todo asked, "what do you propose to remedy that?" Edgar grinned, placed his free hand on Todo's waist and pulled his boyfriend close.
"How about a kiss?" Edgar breathed softly. Todo met his eyes with a soft smile.
"That could be arranged," he said, before leaning forward and closing the gap between their lips.
