Narrator POV
The next morning, Izuku woke up a bit later than usual, but still early enough to keep his routine intact.
Five laps around the dorm building — starting at a brisk walk, ending in a full sprint. A warm shower to refresh his body. Ten minutes of morning yoga to help his bad knees and hips. Then, getting dressed — simple, clean, efficient.
When he glanced at the clock, he realized he was actually ahead of schedule. It took him a second to understand why.
He hadn’t needed to wake Bakugou up this morning.
Humming softly, Izuku slipped on his headphones and headed toward the kitchen to make breakfast. The smell of coffee and toast greeted him — along with the low, nervous whispers of Kaminari and Sero.
They froze the second they noticed him. Both looked guilty, like they’d been caught doing something wrong.
“Something wrong?” Izuku asked, setting his phone down on the counter.
They exchanged a look — and Sero finally spoke.
“Izuku… Bakugou’s cheating on you. With Uraraka.”
They both braced themselves for tears, for yelling, for something.
But instead, Izuku laughed. A quiet, almost disbelieving laugh. He brushed away a single stray tear, but his expression stayed calm.
“I know,” he said lightly. “Found out yesterday.”
The two blinked at him, surprised by how steady he was.
“You okay?” Kaminari asked softly. “You need a hug or something?”
Izuku didn’t hesitate — he stepped into the hug with a small smile. “Thanks,” he muttered. “And thanks for not condoning it like the others.”
The words made both of them go stiff.
“What others?” Sero asked carefully.
Izuku hesitated, biting his lip. But they deserved to know who they were standing beside.
“Everyone else in the class,” he said quietly. “Except you two, Koda, Shoji, Tokoyami, Sato, and Aoyama.”
The kitchen went silent for a moment.
“That’s so messed up,” Kaminari said finally, dragging a hand down his face. “Like—seriously messed up.”
“Yeah,” Sero sighed, shaking his head. “That’s it for me. Washed clean, like laundry.”
Izuku smiled faintly at that — a small, tired, genuine smile. The kind that came from knowing who was really in his corner now.
They talked for a while longer before agreeing to head to class early. Kaminari and Sero followed Izuku when he mentioned a small detour, curiosity practically written across their faces.
“Izuku, who’s this?” Sero asked as a sleek black sedan pulled up and a tall young man stepped out.
“This,” Izuku said, smiling proudly, “is Anji Takihora—my assistant.”
He patted Anji on the back with an easy familiarity.
