The room was filled with tension.
"Do you even realize how much I worry about you, Shu?!" Y/N's voice trembled, but her eyes burned with determination.
Shu stayed silent, his gaze lowered, fists clenched.
"You worry?" he repeated coldly. "Or are you just trying to control everything I do?"
Y/N stepped back, shocked.
"Control you? I just can't stand watching you push yourself until you collapse!"
Shu looked up, his red eyes flashing.
"You don't understand. This is who I am. If I don't give everything, then I'm not myself."
"And where am I in all of that?" she whispered, pain in her voice. "Where am I, Shu?"
He looked away.
"I don't know anymore..."
Tears filled her eyes. She turned and whispered,
"Then think about it."
The door slammed shut. Shu stormed out into the cold night. The air bit at his skin, but he didn't care. Rage and confusion churned inside him.
"Why does everything always go wrong?" he muttered, walking aimlessly through the empty streets.
Back at home, Y/N stood frozen by the door. Her hands trembled as she stared at the handle he had just closed. Her heart raced.
"Shu... where did you go?"
Rain began to fall heavily, sliding down the windows like tears. She sat on the edge of the bed, hiding her face in her hands.
"What if something happens? What if I never see him again?"
On the table, his bey lay still, untouched. She looked at it through tears.
"I didn't mean to hurt you... please come back."
Hours passed. The rain didn't stop. Then suddenly, her phone rang. She grabbed it with shaking hands.
"Hello?"
- "Is this Y/N?" a calm male voice asked.
- "Yes... who's speaking?"
- "This is Starlight Hospital. Shu Kurenai has been in a car accident."
Her heart nearly stopped.
"What?! Is he hurt?! Please tell me he's okay!"
- "He's not seriously injured. Just a few scratches and exhaustion. He's stable."
Y/N's eyes filled with tears of relief.
"I'm coming right now."
She threw on her jacket and ran into the rain. Her footsteps echoed down the street, her mind repeating only one name:
"Shu..."
When she finally reached the hospital, her hands were shaking as she pushed open the door to his room.
Shu lay in bed, his arm bandaged, a few cuts on his face. He looked up as soon as she entered, and his expression softened.
"Y/N..." he whispered.
She ran to him and hugged him tightly, tears spilling down her cheeks.
"I thought I lost you..."
He gently placed his hand on her back.
"I'm sorry," he said quietly. "I wasn't thinking. I just needed to clear my head... but I never meant to hurt you."
Y/N looked at him, her voice soft but steady.
"I was stubborn too. I didn't want to control you... I just didn't want to see you destroy yourself."
Shu gave a small, tired smile - the same one that always calmed her heart.
"Thank you for coming."
She brushed a tear from her cheek and whispered,
"I'll always come."
He leaned closer, gently touching her face before pressing a soft kiss to her forehead.
It was a quiet, tender kiss - one that said I'm sorry, thank you, and I love you all at once.
Y/N closed her eyes, feeling warmth spread through her chest.
"You're here... that's all that matters," she murmured.
Shu smiled faintly and held her hand.
"I'm here," he said softly. "And I'm not going anywhere."
Outside, the rain stopped, and sunlight slipped through the clouds. In that peaceful silence, their fingers intertwined - and everything that had been broken slowly began to heal.
