"You had no right dad." She yelled at him, as James turned away from his daughter, damn that man he thought, "Bells I wanted to tell you, but how could I after all this time." Beldina looked away horrified, "You could have, you should have, Dad this is serious, what are we going to do, I wont go back to something I don't know anything about, a life that you ran away from." Her father walked away into the sitting room where Jardan was trying to look small and insignificant, but to no avail, he was sitting on the end of the couch trying not to listen and interfere, but voices were being raised and someone could hear, "Bells look this isn't easy for me either, your mother risked her life for you for me for everything that we have now." Beldina rounded on her father, "Don't you dare lie, she didn't want to come dad, I read her journal." Damn she wasn't suppose to tell him that, Jardan looked up suddenly, " What?" Her father asked shocked his eyes full of un-shed tears, "You stole it from me, you had no right, that was private, she gave it to me we had hid that, how did you find it?." Beldina looked away her eye catching Jardan's blue ones, "Well its done now, I know everything, and you are one big lier, you didn't speak the truth." and with that her father turned around and stood before her, "And say what, that you are not human, that you come from a different land, time and place, what Beldina, what would I say, I couldn't I wanted for you a normal life." Then he turned accusing eyes to Jardan, he had asked Jardan to wait, but Jardan hadnt done anything, James didnt realise that his daughter was one of a kind, James was still giving Jardan a bad look, Jardan looked up innocently opening his hands in defeat, was he to blame now for past conducts, "Oh stop it dad, its not the big guys fault." Jardan coughed, "Jardan's the name." James and Beldina turned at the same time and gave him a dirty look, Beldina came around and sat beside Jardan, un-aware of Jardan's sharp in take of breath, she was too riled up and angry but she effected him he could feel it down to his bones, "I don't know what to believe any more, this is so stupid but it feels so right, and the dreams, I thought I was losing my mind until big guy here explained." Jardan sighed he was in big trouble, "The name is Jardan please."
"Oh shut up please." she shouted at Jardan then turned to her father who was leaning against the counter shaking his head, "I only wanted to protect you from them, I didn't want to hurt you or your mother, she didn't tell me Bells." then he was leaning down onto the counter, Beldina suddenly stood looking over at Jardan who also stood, these humans were so emotional he thought, Beldina walked over to her father, "Dad what are you on about, you didn't know, she was dying, bit by bit, you never gave her a chance dad, you never once asked." James shook his head, "I wanted to, but if I spoke the words I was afraid she wanted to go back, she had given up so much for me already and now she was dying, I knew Bells, had always known." Beldina stood back, her eyes wide, and now Jardan stood beside them, also awed by the events, "What?"
James stood wiping his eyes, "When big guy came." Jardan rolled his eyes again and looked away, "I knew that the time had come, I knew that everything was going to come out, I wanted to tell you but I didn't want to lose you, because its bigger than you think." Beldina stood her ground arms folded across her chest, "Well big guy can handle it, so spill the beans." Jardan snorted, "Please just Jardan." Beldina turned and gave him a bad look, Jardan looked away and moved to sit on the sofa again, "telling you that your life is a lie, is that what you want." Beldina nodded, "If its the truth yes dad, I want it straight, no flowers there on the outside, and no butter on the inside, just tell it as it is." James nodded, and moved away from the counter, "Well you know, big guy here knows everything, and I don't think I can tell you..... it all, its all too painful, I don't think I can lose another of my girls, I'm going out." and with that he slams the door shut behind him, Beldina screamed, "Oh he is so impossible." Jardan stands, "Well actually your father is right I can tell you everything you need to know, we spoke with your father and I know everything that is needed to know about you and your family." Beldina looked at him, stamping her foot, "Well big guy do you drink?" Jardan looked around, "What?" Beldina ignored him, as she picked up a bottle of wine and popped it pouring it into two glasses, "Wine, its good." She handed one to Jardan and sat on the sofa, "I have all day to hear the story, so start." Jardan looked at the glass in his hand, as he made himself comfortable on the single sofa that did not fit his frame, Beldina looked at him smiling, she sipped her wine and said "Yeah I think that sofa isn't the right spot for you, you can come sit here, I can assure you I wont bite." Jardan nodded getting up somewhat awkwardly, then came to sit beside Beldina, it was definitely more comfortable here he thought what with her heat and anger mixing, he sipped his drink first wondering what kind of trick this could be, but as he watched Beldina he realised she was downing the stuff like it was going out of fashion, so he slowly then tips the glass and drains its, Beldina watches with her luminous green eyes, "So its that bad ha?" Jardan smiles. he likes her wit and the fact that everything is falling apart but she still smiles, "Beldina......" Beldina shook her head, "Na Call me Bells everyone does and Beldina well its like outdated or alien weird and some." Jardan smiles, she really didn't know her names worth, "Well in actual fact back home, my home that is , em' Beldina is a good name, wealthy and respected, it actually portrays a beautiful princess." Beldina looks at him strangely, rising her brows "So I suppose when you mean your home you mean my home. So my name means beautiful." Jardan nods, as he watches Beldina roll her eyes, he likes her doing that, it looks funny, "Oh man it is bad, am I human at least, or was I right about that too." Jardan nods "You are sort of human I suppose, I mean to be able to procreate is normal in both worlds, and we eat and live and everything that the humans do, but we have a different body metabolism, blood and muscle tissue and stuff are the same sort of, much stuffer and stern, strong in more ways than you can imagine, and we don't have as much feelings and emotions as humans, but apart from that we are similar, oh and we have certain magical powers sort of, our laws are different as is our home land and times, the majority of the people back home do not have a right to do as they wish, we really don't have much free will, but here everyone can do as they please, its different, I don't know how to explain it really." Beldina gulps down her wine and sits back into the couch with a puff, "Well I seem to understand that its not a really nice place then, if no one has free will, I mean why would anyone allow someone else's dictation, I just don't understand it, but I understand my dad now, but not my mother." Jardan nodded, I know of your mother Bellara, Bells, she was a brave woman, but she was also brought up in that community, she was born and bred there, she new of nothing else, as for your father well he was famous for his exploits and he was a general of the police, your father is very well known he has lived and travelled wide and far, he has tasted so many differences that your mother could never understand, she was isolated, her family they are eager to meet you too I think." Beldina laughed softly, "You called me Bells, that's nice, and my father doesn't want to go back from what I can see." Jardan nodded in refusal sitting back himself to admire the beauty before him, "Your father may not have a choice, he is sought after, and you well your like a prize now." Beldina looks away pouring more wine, she raises her eyebrows to Jardan as he lifts his own glass too, she pours them both several more generous glasses then she lays back into the puffed cushions once again feeling the wine seep through her body, "So you say you know of my mother tell me something about her then." Jardan watches her closely, then he closes his eyes for a moment then opens them, "She was a very pretty woman, beautiful just like you, she was sought out often by the men of Selgon, but your mother only had eyes for your father, they had been together since birth, but your father was busy with his work, your mother was to be with another, when your father realised that he actually wanted her and asked for her hand in marriage." Beldina smiles, "So my parents were celebrities, like famous." She leans forward fascinated by the incredible story, Jardan nods smiling almost to himself he had listened to the story from James own mouth, although some of it he actually could see through pictures in his mind, the story was one to remember and retell, as he rakes his thick fingers through his hair, "Yes I presume they were, but your mother was also very strong willed and she often interfered into politics, which put them both in hardship." Beldina didn't understand, "What politics, what did my mother have to do with politics?" Jardan stood suddenly, obviously her father hadn't told her anything, and her mother hadn't written about herself much, "You see your grandfather is the chairman of state, he is one of the Seglon's leaders." Beldina sat back shocked, "Ah, so I see, my parents were running away from the pressure and something that was going on that they didn't like like force birthing and manipulation." Jardan nodded "Yes unfortunately so." Beldina jumps up to and went to stand in front of Jardan, "So tell me Jardan big guy, why did they run away really." Jardan moves away feeling hot and stuffy, the woman was persistent in her questions, "I didn't know until I came here, but apparently back then and apparently now they are taking the new borns and bringing them to age in artificial environments away from their real families to only make them breed with each other once again in a vicious circle, the population is on a down slide maybe even extinction." Beldina stands shocked before him she knew about all this because she had pieced everything together but hearing it again made her blood run cold even though she was burning up with all the wine, "Oh my god, that is dreadful and its dreadful all over again when you say it like that." Jardan turns around and faces her so she had pieced together the broken and partly told stories, she was clever, "I know and now I don't know where I stand and what to do, I was to take you back, but now how can I." Beldina jumps back, she knew that he had come here to take them back to Seglon, so why was she suddenly so concerned, "Oh know you don't, you leave this minute, I don't want you near me or my father for another minute or I will kill you." she moves back against the kitchen counter feeling slightly frightened and dizzy everything feels and look amplified, Jardan shakes his head trying to dispel the thoughts running around in his already full and maybe drunken head, and her eyes and lips were distracting him something terrible, "I wont take you back, I need to think or find out what's going on, I have already sent word to my friends that I trust to find out what is really going on, I cant take you back if they only want you for breeding, apparently you are a good breeder." Beldina made a face, "That doesn't really sound nice, I don't want to become a breeder, god that's awful." Jardan nods, and moves to stand in front of her, he lifts his hand compelled to make her believe him, "Bells I will protect you and your father with my life, I have made a mistake, and I am gravely sorry but not sorry that I met you or your father." Beldina gave him a side long glance, was he for real could she trust him, oh god she wanted to trust him so much, and she wanted to tell him him as much, but the dizziness was increasing and her stomach didn't feel so good it was churning, she burped a little covering her mouth with her hand in embarrassment then closed her eyes, oh boy that was not a good sign, Jardan watches her pale features and agonised looks, and her firmly set mouth, "Bells you look a little drunk I think, and I think I should take you to the bathroom." Beldina waves her hand but decides she really needed to go anyway, Jardan suddenly in a blink of an eye has her up and in the upstairs bathroom on her knees down on the cold tiles in front of the toilet, but before she could think of anything to say or even try and push the thought through to activate her mouth, she pukes emptying her stomachs contents, as Jardan holds her hair and wipes her mouth.
They staid that way for several hours until Beldina vomits out her guts in the bathroom with an alien man good-looking as anything wiping her mouth and soothing her back. Beldina eventually sits back into Jordan's lap, "That was awful, I am sorry ." Jardan gives her a strange look, he found her puking quiet different and enlightening, he was sure that his people never did anything like that, at all in fact. "Well actually this is a human thing, so I think its safe to say you are somehow half human, we don't get drunk usually and we don't vomit as you do." Beldina looks at him and smirks, whoopee she was half human, what a relief only half alien, that was nice to know.
Jardan places Beldina softly onto her bed and stands watching her, her eyes were fluttering closed but her hand held his tightly she was slightly shaking, either from exhaustion or she was cold, "You know I don't want you to go, I know we don't know each other, but I trust you and no one I mean no one has ever sat with me while I puked, and I have puked a lot, so please stay until I fall asleep." Jardan looks down at the green eyed woman and wonders what he has done in the good books to have met her, he had never wanted to help any other women before he had never felt anything like sentiment for anyone, and he had many run after him before, but with this one he felt inclined to help, like his life depended on it, he couldn't put his finger on it, but he knew there was something about her that he had to try and understand, why had they sent him after these people if they had been given free will, and why after so many years, what was the purpose of bringing Beldina back when she was half human, she wouldn't be able to breed as many as the other woman. Beldina was still holding his hand when he realised she had fallen asleep, he shook his hand but still her hand held his, he sank to his knees leaning against her bed and watched as her chest rose and fell, she was fascinating and strange, and he had noticed today that her eyes in fact were not just green, but like the forest green of his homeland, which made him smile, she maybe a little bit human, but she was just like him in every way possible, he just couldnt tell her just yet, he needed more time with her and he needed to get in contact with his friends, James hadnt returned which puzzeled him, but he had to look after Beldina, Bells as he had started to call her, yes Beldina was a very important person to the Seglon Government, why he would have to find out..
