Written in Luke's point of view: :
Today's the day. The day that I've been waiting on for two years. It would have only been a couple months, but since Maci was pregnant with Laci, our beautiful baby girl.
I'm standing at the end of this aisle waiting for the love of my life to walk down that aisle and us say our 'I dos.'
Of course I was not able to see the dress as Maci was nothing but traditional. Something, about bad luck, she had said.
My nerves were bouncing like crazy at this point as Laci Rae came running down the aisle towards me, the music playing letting me know it was starting. In an hour, we would me Mister and Misses Luke Smith. Maci Michelle Smith. It sounded beautiful in my mind.
I look towards the back of the yard, trying to catch a glimpse of my fiancé walking towards me but I ca not. Mostly because Laci comes bouncing up next me. Her chocolate covered hands smearing my slacks. The little brat always had some kind of sweets smothering her hands.
"Daddy, daddy," she squeals right as I see Maci make her way around the corner of the golden arch. I reach up, pulling Laci into my arms. I know if I do not, she'll throw a fit and I cannot handle that, at all. My stomach is turning with excitement as I think about it.
She is breathtaking, in a scary, heartbreaking kind of way. Her dress is floor length, almost too long to her and I knew that's how she wanted it. Deep blue diamonds covered the bodice of it and scattered as they went down. The dress itself is a frosty white and I'm glad she decided to go with the strapless one.
Her bare shoulders made my mouth water. How many times had I kissed those same shoulders? Bit down on them so I didn't scream? In that dress, Maci was all woman and it was driving me wild.
I am pleased with myself to notice the small amount of makeup she was wearing. A little bit of blush, light mascara, and of course her favorite nude lipstick. I have always loved her more natural look. Was never really into women who caked on makeup day after day.
Her beautiful face is framed in long tendrils of hair. Just enough is pulled up from the top that it still cascades down her back. Her hair is pulled away from her shoulders though. Innocent to everyone else but me because I know the real reason her shoulders aren't covered. With hair or fabric. Fuck, she's beautiful.
Her dad grins at me, placing my hand not holding Laci, wrapped in Maci's.
"Papa," Laci shrieks, holding her arms out for Mr. Hall. Thank God. Let the man take her but I can't help but grin. Part of the reasons I'm so ecstatic about moment is because I have our daughter here with us.
The vows we had picked were short and sweet. My heart skips when I hear that bit about the day Laci was born. It was also the greatest day of my life. I fell in love with both of them even more.
"I do," I whisper. Maci gives my hand a squeeze. "I do," she replies.
I cant wait any longer, the preacher doesn't even have time to finish the rest, I quickly pull her veil over her hair. My hand cups the side of her skin roughly and I pull her close. The second our lips meet that fire that was once building, is now fully lit. Something's changed, I can tell.
I definitely think I can get used o the married life. I have to force myself to pull away. I know that if I don't, I could end up in front of all of our guest, banging this woman on an alter. Lord help me, please.
The sweet sound of Laci's laughter, fills the air. I honestly can't be any happier right now. Laci comes running back up the aisle and Maci scoops her up in her arm not laced in mine.
