C/N POV:
"I'm going up to get a shot for me. You want one, C/N?"
"Yeah, sure."
I turn back to where I was facing before, my eyes widening a little when I see a room filled with pool tables. I notice someone taking the last shot of their game in the room, and I notice their position, my mind racing with a realization.
I can use this as a valid excuse to look at Y/N's ass without him noticing. I mean... He's always been competitive, so I don't think he'd notice.
"Hold up."
Y/N turns back around to face me, humming in acknowledgement.
"How about you and I play pool instead?"
He comes back over to me and stands in front of me.
"I don't know how to play pool, though."
"I'll teach you. You up for the challenge?"
As soon as I mention the word "challenge", Y/N lights up with excitement and nods.
"A challenge? I'm totally down."
Perfect.
"There's an open table toward the back that we could use, so lets go ahead and use that."
Y/N nods again, grabbing my hand and practically dragging me over to the pool tables. I happily follow along, pressing my lips together to keep myself from outright grinning ear to ear. He turns to me with bright eyes, handing me a pool stick and grabbing one of his own. I spot the box of blue chalk and set it down somewhere nearby so neither of us forget it.
"Ready for me to teach you the ropes, Y/N?"
He heedlessly nods, his unwavering stare filled with determination (any Undertale fans?).
"Absolutely."
I return his gesture of agreement, grabbing a rack and placing it in the middle of the billiard table. I, then, begin grabbing the balls one by one and organizing them in the proper order in the form of a triangle.
"In that case, Y/N, lets go over setup."
(If you want to skip the explanation, these emojis 🎱⭐ will signal the beginning & end of the explanation of the pool game)
🎱⭐
Once I'm certain he's paying attention, I finish putting the balls in the triangle and place the cue ball a bit away from the front corner of the triangle. I lift the rack away from the now sorted pool balls and put it aside, grabbing the blue chalk and placing some of the tip of each of our pool sticks.
"The balls are out into that triangle thing, which is called the rack. There's 15 balls total, and the one with the number eight on it needs to be in the middle."
I gesture to the cue ball with my free hand.
"This is the cue ball. This is the only one you directly hit with your pool stick. You use it to hit the other balls and get them into the pockets."
"Pockets?"
The adorably muddled expression on Y/N's face makes my heart skip a beat, but I decide to not focus on that aspect for now.
"I'll get to that in a minute. To start, someone needs to hit the cue ball to make all of the others split up. I'll start this one, since you don't seem to have much experience with this game."
Y/N nods again, not seeming to have an issue with my suggestion. I place my non-dominant foot a couple feet in front of my dominant one on the ground, the former pointing forward and the other remaining at an angle for balance purposes. I move my non-dominant hand to the table, making a circle shape with my pointer finger & thumb and putting the front of the stick through it to keep the front steady while the stick, itself, remains in my dominant hand.
