Third Person POV
Irene previously told Jisoo that a car would pick her up directly from the airport and take her to her hotel, adding that Taehyung was still at rehearsals and would meet her at the hotel.
So to her surprise, here he was, leaving rehearsal early just to pick her up.
Jisoo pulled Taehyung into a hug, her heart racing. Maybe it was the fact that they hadn't seen each other in a month, or maybe it was the swarm of butterflies in her stomach. She suddenly felt like a young girl meeting her crush for the very first time.
When they finally pulled apart, Taehyung searched her face as though memorizing every detail all over again.
"You look tired," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her cheek.
"So do you," Jisoo replied, poking his chest lightly.
"World tour isn't exactly a vacation."He chuckled, but there was a tenderness beneath it.
Jisoo felt her heart trip. "You didn't tell me you were coming."
"I wanted to surprise you." His eyes crinkled. "Did it work?"
She hit him lightly on the arm. "I almost cried in the middle of the airport."
"That means yes," he said, satisfied.
They began walking towards the parkade, fingers brushing before finally intertwining. Jisoo leaned into him, savoring the warmth of his coat against her.
"How long do you have before you need to leave again?" she asked, trying to sound casual.
Taehyung squeezed her hand. "Tonight... is just for us. No flights, no rehearsals, no cameras."
Her steps slowed. "Really?"
He nodded. "I told the staff I needed a break." Then, quieter, "I needed you."
Jisoo couldn't help but giggle at his cuteness.
"Come on," he said finally, nudging her playfully. "I have a place I want to show you."
"Where?"
"You'll see." His grin was boyish, bright. "Trust me."
Taehyung parked where he was able to find parking, unfortunately in Paris, finding parking is a mission and a half.
He opens the car door for Jisoo, and as soon as she stepped out, Jisso muttered, "if this is one of those cliché Eiffel Tower viewpoints, I will judge you forever."
Taehyung laughed, his breath visible in the crisp night air. "Maybe it's cliché... but there's a reason people love it."
Several minutes passed, they reached a small, secluded square, and Jisoo's eyes widened.
Twinkling fairy lights were strung above a tiny carousel, casting golden reflections on the wet pavement. The horses were frozen mid-gallop, pastel colours glowing in the soft light.
"I... you did all this?" she whispered, heart fluttering.
"Happy first year anniversary my love," he said, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Come on."
Jisoo blushed, memories of the last year instantly flash in her mind, who would've thought the man she could care less about would end up being the love of her life.
"Happy Anniversary Taehyung, I love you." Jisoo replied before holding onto Taehyung's hand.
They climbed onto the carousel, picking horses across from each other. As it spun slowly, the world blurred into soft gold and shadow. Their elbows brushed, fingers intertwined, and for a while, neither spoke. Just the quiet music of the carousel and the hum of the city around them.
