Third Person POV
Taehyung sat slouched in one of the lounge chairs in the open area of BigHit, his presence quiet but heavy.
Bang PD had summoned him, again.
Schedules. Commitments. Expectations.
After three years of hiatus, Taehyung had no desire to return to the industry. No desire to be here at all.
Yet here he was.
His gaze stayed fixed on his phone, fingers zooming in on a familiar face.
Jisoo.
She looked... good. That thought alone made his chest tighten.
"Hey, man. Didn't expect to see you here."
Taehyung didn't even look up.
"Yeah."
Jimin lingered awkwardly, shifting his weight.
Silence.
Thick. Uncomfortable. Unfinished.
Ever since Barcelona, since everything with Jisoo. Things between them had never been the same.
Jimin had confessed.
It was his fault Sana found out.
Rosé had told him about the fake relationship. Jimin, drunk and careless, told Jeongyeon.
And Jeongyeon told Sana.
A chain reaction.
A disaster.
"Are you still mad at me?" Jimin finally asked. "We haven't had a real conversation in three years. You only talk to me when it's about work."
Taehyung's jaw tightened.
"It's been three years, Tae... I'm still your best friend."
A pause.
A long one.
Taehyung exhaled slowly.
"I'm not mad at you," he said. "I forgave you a long time ago."
Jimin blinked, surprised.
"But..." Taehyung continued, voice quieter now, "every time I see you, I'm reminded of my biggest mistake."
That one hit harder than anything else.
"Every time I see you... I remember why I lost her."
Jimin swallowed.
"I don't get it then," he said carefully. "If losing Jisoo was your biggest mistake... why didn't you ever reach out?"
Rosé had mentioned to Jimin, Jisoo's previous attempts of reaching out to Taehyung before she left for New York three years ago. That question had been sitting with him for years.
